SI Steering Wheel

Hi, I am the proud new owner of a 2 week old GG civic ex coupe with nav. I am planning on doing some mods to it. Wheels, susp, etc. The first mod I want to do is buy and have the SIs steering wheel instaled. I love how it is real leather and beefy. It looks like it will fit and all is needed is a damper piece the wheel itself and two extra screws when looking at the parts breakdown athondapartsdeals website. Has anyone done this mod yet? If so what parts did you need? Thanks

You're about 9 months too late. Already did it back in January. All you need is the steering wheel itself as everything from the EX Navi wheel will swap right over. FYI, the Si wheel is not as "beefy" as the EX wheel---smaller diameter. Just be sure to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery before you go screwing around with the airbag.

If you don't have a HELM Factory Service manual for your Civic, now's a good time to get one. There are 6 Hondas in my family and I have 6 different HELMs. Tell you anything?

Why don't you just get the leather steering wheel wrap at your dealer? Have it put on when you get your oil changed or something.

yeah doing an entire steering wheel change over for nothing but the leather seems like a lot of uneeded hassle.....

the only thing i managed to get my dealership to give me for my GG ex coupe which i paid MSRP 4 months ago was to include the leather wrapped steering wheel..

i was going from a 94 bmw 325is and couldn't imagine not having the nice tactile feedback of leather on the wheel..

the dealership did a fantastic job on the stitching that goes into installing this and from talking to the tech who did the work it wasnt something you'd like to do on your own...

think about wearing gloves and possibly geting blisters if you try it yourself....

all said and done i think you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference ....

save yourself the time and money and dont bother doing the SI steering swap...
