sirius hard-wired diy?

i know there are diy's for sirius/xm, but everybody seems to use the crappy fm modulator and plug into the cigarette lighter way, and/or use the factory radio. i want a hard wired version. i have a starmate, and it mounts to the window, but i need a diy on how to hard wire the power in, and the best way to route the power and signal wires (signal plugs into the aux jack). the only thing that i can use from the other guides is the antenna routing.

i would usually take it to circuit city, but they're no more, and best buy wants $70 (circuit city charged $40). best buy also wanted $60 to rewire the power outlet to be always on (they first claimed this couldn't even be done), when circuit city did it for $30, so screw best buy. i also can't find any any installers around where i live either (60137), and some crazy custom shop would probably want a lot anyways.

nevermind, fry's electronics (huge electronics store) does installs, and the manager told me he hates best buy, and will match the price circuit city gave me. he used to do installs at the same circuit city i went to. he could have worked on my fa5 possibly.

Hey, I did something similar to this.. except I have a sirius stiletto.. I took off the dash and the center console. struggled to find an alternate source, finally tapped the stock radio power source after reading it wasn't using all the power anyways. drilled a small hole in the bottom bin... and fed it through.. mounting it very low and not in the field of vision.. works great, goes into sleep mode when car turns off.. turns on quickly.. one year in car.. still doing fine. no pics though.. sorry.
