OEM harness on k2motors fog lights

So I bought the OEM harness for my k2motors fog light kit. Here are the results:

The fog light indicator does show up on the instrument panel, which is what I was hoping for. Also, the switch now fades with the rest of the dash.

But the downsides are that they now function like OEM fog lights. They only turn on with the head lights, not just with the parking lights. They also turn off when the brights are put on. Another thing that I was a little disappointed about was that the fogs don't flash when locking and unlocking the car with key fob.

There are only two wires that are different between the OEM and the one that came with the k2motors kit. They are the violet one and the blue wire.

Just thought I'd share.

(yes I posted this in the k2motors thread, but I want it to be able to be found easier in case someone wants to do this.)

reelbigfish241,

What was the part# for the harness you ordered? Was it 08V31-SVA-10030? I want to use the OEM harness with the K2's. I haven't ordered the k2's yet...I guess if I use the oem harness and switch, I can order anyone's fog kit.

Little confuse, why do you need a harness? Don't the K2motor kit come with everything you need for installation of the foglight? Or maybe you just want Honda OEM look

The OEM switch is a seperate item. You can buy that if you want it to be completely OEM on the inside.

My fogs did flash with the non-OEM harness. I liked it as well, but I like the OEM harness better. just my opinion though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can use any 06 2dr foglight kit on ebay as long as you use the oem internal harness? Haven't all the problems with different kits on ebay come from problems with the internal harness?

cables O.o
different cables = different setup
oem harness = you'll get the dash icon, on/off switch.. but it will only turn on with headlights on
aftermarket harness = no dash icon, "no switch <<?" and can be turned on with daylights

Keep in mind the harness for the sedan and the harness for the coupe are veru different. You will have to the stalk in the sedan as well.

I just installed the K2 Fogs with the K2 harness. There was only a slight difference, one wire. Everything works fine. They flash which I lock/unlock thd car, dash switch lights up. I just dont have an indicator on my dash telling me there own. I like was impressed as how easy it was to install. I like that I ride around with just the park lights on and the fogs.

I am sure there is , just have to see what the difference is from the oem harness and the aftermarket harness and add that wire.
