Does anybody have a DIY to lower the stock seat an inch or two? I'm 6'1" and have a long torso and I'm already leaning back so far I barely reach the steering wheel comfortably. I hit my head on the roof when I go over bumps. Yes .....the seat is lowered by the hand crank all the way.
I have a 2009 Civic coupe EX. |

You could try taking some foam out of the seat bottom. It is a bit of an involved process but if you know how to work on upholstery it should not be that hard. I am 6' 6" and did this on my 1990 Miata and again on my '07 Si sedan. (BTW the 4 door has about 3" more head room than the 2 door, thats why I got it instead)

I am 6'6" and drive an 09 SI Sedan, I fit very well in the driver's seat. I alos bought the sedan for that reason (and I have a car seat in the back for my daughter) . Best of luck.

One other thing you could try is a racing seat. Can be real expensive and probably not what you are looking for but it would work or maybe look in to swaping out the seat rails with some aftermarket ones from Sparco or some other racing seat maker. Good luck, let us know what you find.

I'm only about 5'10 and I find myself hitting my head in my FG2 once in a while. but yeah, kinda wish there was a little more headroom, but hey, nice car design from the outside. you'd think since us Americans are fat and tall, they would have given us more room, yet the RR looks like its too big for the small Asians.

You guys say that you're the same height or you have a friend that is freakishly tall and they fit just fine. You must understand that height means very little when people are all proportioned differently. He said he has a long torso and he is tall. Me im 6'3'' and I am ok on head room, but I am hurting in the leg room area.

there is a cheat code for the 09's
![]() No really, there is. You need to pump the seat up a bit then down then up and then down again. you loose an entire pump down if you go all the way up then try and lower it down., i dont know why but it only seems to be tru for the 09's. going from a 06 to a 09(both are coupes) the 09 seat was much taller, and this pissed me off, played with it for almost a hour and got it to maximum low.
