Hello All... I thought that I would share how I mounted my GPS in my car. I have a Tom Tom One Time XL, that comes with a suction cup mount, along with a plastic disk with attached adhesive. I installed the plastic disk on the 45 degree angle in front of the shifter located in the little storage compartment there. Since the power supply is right there, cords are not running everywhere, and when the suction cup mount easily removable, I can transfer it to other cars in just a few seconds. I have had it like this for 9 months with no regrets. Let me know what you think!

That seems like a good idea, but isn't that a lill far for your eyes to travel (from the road) when your driving? Especially when it's giving you useful information that you might have to read or something

Great idea, but I used was from pro-fit-intl. No tape, no suction cup marks, not obvious signs of a GPS unit when you look from the outside. Take look here

OP: Nice DIY I have been trying to figure out where to put the GPS and how I would run the wire, this way I don't have to worry about it and easy to get to if I need to take it off the mount to transfer it to another vehicle. Thanks you made my life simpler. |

Should have gotten the one with voice navigation (most are i know). One that tells you the street names and everything you need. Don't have to look down.
