dumb mirror question

So I have a question for this all knowing forum. It's a dumb one, to which I'll probably be mocked for, which I'm ok with, and I'll ask anyway. My friend had a hit and run on her driver side mirror and is asking for my help to fix it and put a new one on. She has the Sedan so i don't think there's a plastic panel i can just snap off to get to to pull the mirror assembly off. My question is, will I need to pull the door panel off to replace the mirror? or is there an easy way to get to it. Also, is there anything else I should know ahead of time before I help out. Thanks in advance.

fair enough. I sort of saw that coming, but I wanted to make sure anyway. Since I have your attention anyway, I also need help with the little triangle piece of glass right next to the mirror too. My friends is all shattered up so I gotta put a new one of those on as well. Do I need like a windshield glue for it? What's the best way to go about replacing that glass? Thanks for the help.
