Remote Car Starter (OEM Remote, not OEM starter)

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if there is a way to use the OEM remote that came with my civic 06 ex coupe to start a car up if the right stuff is used. I saw something before about a command start module that let's you use your own key rather having another stupid remote. However, is the range sufficient? Or is there something out there that has better range and is simple (meaning a start and stop button)? I don't want screens, keyless entry, and all the other crap.

Goal: Simple 1 or 2 button long enough range (starting from my apartment) remote and/or using my OEM remote key without compromising security (programmable bypass modules?).

And I've tried looking thru the threads but just read about how bad the OEM car starter is. And I wouldn't be doing this myself, but I don't want to necessarily throw in a Circuit City/Best Buy kit. They probably stink unless Avital 4113L is good. Website AviStart 4113 says 1000 feet. Not bad.

Sigh....

It's freaking cold around here

So the last few days have been completely craptastic and thus I am even more persuaded to get a remote starter.

So is that Avital kit good or bad? I don't want those super remotes. I prefer using all the functions on the Honda key, and a single button remote starter seems to be the most simple.

I've never heard of that brand before, but I think people on here tend to recommend Compustar. Take a look at the Compustar Blade - the remote seems simple enough.
