How to remove ABS ?

HI, I did some research but did not find the info I needed.

How can I remove the ABS feature on a Civic LX 1.8L 2008 (canadian model) and be sure it won't brake some part of the system.

I live in Quebec, Canada, and we have a lot of snow. I've some experience in Rally Racing and I can say that having ABS can be good in the summer or in some wet surface... but on Snow.. ABS will not suit me... I tried to get the feel of it.. but it kick in so soon in the braking process that I cant control my car the way i want.

so, please don't say to me that I need ABS and that it's there for a reason... once you've done some rally racing and you've learn the technical process of braking on slipery surface... you sure don't want ABS to get between you and the weight transfert of the car.. if you know what a mean.

So wich fuse do I need to get rid of for the winter season do deactivate the ABS securely ( without harming the ABS system itself... )

thank's for all constructive answer

ps: please forgive me for my english.. I'm a french speaking person trying to learn english ...

I agree... ABS sucks and it is designed for " Soccer moms " who cant learn how to brake.

Deactivating ABS is illegal in Quebec so I suggest you not do it. You can get in trouble if you're involved in an accident and inspectors realize that you deactivate ABS.

ABS are way too sensitive...

Damn I also hate ABS on my 01 civic. That's why I was loving driving my 93 EJ1, it didn't had the ABS .

If you want it out permanently, I wonder if it's possible to pull out the ABS unit, all the sensors and then just reroute your brake lines. Clear up the engine bay a little bit and save some weight.

My biggest complaint with my 08 FG2 is that the ABS, as the OP hinted at, comes on so strong so fast that just tapping the brakes activates it almost immediately. Like the OP I live in a snowy climate (northern NY) and the ABS is actually hindering my ability to control the car as it just noses ahead once the ABS engages. This is only the second vehicle I have owned with ABS and I hated it on the first car I owned and I hate it on this one even more. Just let me drive the car!!
