Radiator Installation
hey im pretty new to posting on here so sorry if not everything is up to par...
i have tried searching but didnt find anything. a semi's blown tire was lying in the middle of the road and because of construction on both sides of the road with cement barricades i was unable to avid it and made contact with it at around 50mph. not too fun. $1,500 dollars later in cosmetic damage, which will be taken care of later this week, the radiator and A/C compressor is shot. shops and everything around here is pretty expensive on labor and was wondering how hard and if there is even a how-to on it? i have a friend who is pretty handy that would help with the work and tools wouldnt be a problem so it wouldnt be a solo job. any help, tips, pointers, etc? thanks ahead of time... chris BTW its an 08 civic ex 2 door, no navi if that makes a diff |

The radiator itself would be a pretty easy fix. Just need to drain the coolant, remove the top and bottom hoses, the hose running to the over-flow tank, and remove the old and fit the new one in. Not a lot to it.
The A/C Compressor is also fairly easy, however, dealing with the A/C system is no fun if it's still got charge. You'd need to discharge the refrigerant before attempting to replace the compressor, then have it recharged. Other then that you're really only looking at taking off your belt, a couple hoses, and a few bolts. Of course if you don't have much mechanical experience, it could turn into a disaster.
