Question ? about Hondata IMG

I got down to the step where you just pull the intake manifold off and it hits on the left side where the belt tensioner is. I tried every angle to get it off and I couldnt so i ended up putting it back togeather last night. Anyone that has done this mod please help me out, thanks.
Its a Si (course i dont think the IMG is out for the other cars)

does this do ANYTHING?

I've seen other intake manifold "spacer" that reduce heat transfer to the intake manifold but this is just a simple gasket..which I don't think does anything really

This is an intake manifold gasket, its made of a thick plastic, instead of the paperthin metal one thats stock.

Well, buddy I know exactly the problem that you're having. What I did was took a big pry bar and pried it out and upward. The only problem with this is...that you might end up messing up the bolt threads. Make sure that you're very careful. At first I almost gave up putting this **** in also bro without taking everything apart.

Hope this helps and goodluck!

Better write up with pics here. You do not need to remove a stud like that other DIY indicates. Waste of time and effort.

yeah and it helps HOW? that little thing won't drop the temp by too much i don't think...

I've had one on my tiburon v6 and it was at least half inch thick... now THAT is a intake manifold "SPACER" this is just simply a gasket... which means it won't be as good as having the spacer

That is a good write up. I removed everything and the one bolt below, I think it helped. I then tilted it clock-wise and up and it came out. Then I grabbed the gasket and sliced the tip of my finger. Blood spilled all over and I fainted (just kidding about fainting). The only other thing I did wrong was tear the gasket on the TB. I need to replace it I suppose?

relax man, it isn't going to give you a 20whp gain but it does make a difference...as much of a difference (if not more) than any other product for the price. let's not forget the cost is only $55! try looking around on clubrsx and ephatch for results and feedback, along with the throttle body coolant bypass mod, cai, etc it is just a small part of the whole package deal...

yeah you need to replace the gasket, could cause unmetered air to enter the intake.

It's not supposed to be a "spacer". It's an alternative to the metal gasket. Made of a special material (i.e. not plastic), it reduces intake temperatures by reducing heat transfer.

In other words....metal conducts heat. THIS, does not.....

Does anyone make a throttle body spacer? Since I have to replace the oem gasket. The Outlaw engineering kit I had for my Accord had one.

allright just finished installing mine, took me about 2 hours. I just took the stud out, figured it was the safest thing to do. I also did the throttle body coolant bypass also.
