2008 injen sri install**

tried installing my new injen sri for the 2008 si, and ran into a sort of wall, or rather the engine wiring harness yesterday. has any one installed this intake and found that the front end of the filter pushes against the wiring harness support bracket.

mine went in with no problems.....From start to finish it took about 45 minutes.

Do you have a throttle body spacer installed?

no, this is the only thing ive done to car, it cant go over the support because then it wont sit on the vibration mount, it only took me about 45 min to get this point. if it wasnt for the support being in the way i would have tightened everthing up and called it a day, but when it comes time to clean/change the filter its gonna be a real pain in the ass to do b/c it would be wedged in there

Something doesn't sound right...I didn't run into any problems with clearances. It is close to the firewall but not resting against anything. Try making sure the air tube is seated all the way into the 90 degree elbow and that the elbow is also seated all the way back onto the throttle body. Oh...and that the airfilter is seated all the way back as well.

It also might help if you can post a pic of your install so that we can have something to look at.

Thumbs down

just an update, ive tried to install this twice, and my pops, who is a mechanic, tried also, it doesnt fit the 2008 si coupe. the elbow is the wrong step down size for the throttle body, the 6mm tubing in the kit doesnt fit the stock clamps, and it the elbow doesnt align properly with the throttle body when the intake is in correctly, leaving the eblow off correctly, and allowing for minute air bypass sucking in dust.

Don't know what to tell you...perhaps you have the wrong SRI. I had absolutely no problems installing mine.

I just got a fujita and tried to fit it with a friend, and then took it to a shop, it wouldn't fit, looks like the elbow is a wrong oart in the kit

I'll compare my parts to one of my friends car and see where the problem is
