How I installed my Catback exhaust system LOTS OF PICS

first off there are 4 "pipes" on my LX. the cat (#1) the pipe after the pipe that goes over the front axle (#2) the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG pipe before the muffler and after the front axle (#3) and the muffler (#4)

whatcha need:
WD-40
socket wrench with sockets 12mm and 13??? 14???
HIGHLY RECOMMEND A BREAKER!!!!! i will show u where to use the breaker
***this process will take maybe 2 hrs, with the right tools and everything****

step one: do something stupid or similar to what i did. my car was harder cuz i dropped it, so i had to raise it higher

***HERE IS WHERE YOU USE YOUR BREAKER BAR!!!! (i think its 1/2 inch)
when you see this guy be scared, you will spend most of your time. this picture is from the passenger side of the car. looking under toward the middle front axle

now remove those 3 screws (WAAAAAAAAAAAAY EASIER SAID THAN DONE)
now look down toward the end of the car this is what you SHOULD see

now to to the passenger rear tire, look under to ur left this is what you see:

this position is laying under the car and look at the #3/#4 connection from under the car looking at the inside part of the tire:

ok now this pic is from the rear bumper looking at the connection. lube this baby up with TONS of WD-40 and un-screw it:

i didnt mention but you have to remove 2 triangular black rubber things that hold the exhaust up, believe me you will see them or else the exhaust will hang there for life. bathe these two in WD-40 and just slide them off, and place them on the new one.also DO NOT FORGET to add the gasket to each connection!!! or else they will leak. turn on ur car, or in my case have someone turn ur car on, cuz i was dirtier than a bum.
rev the car a couple of times, listen to any leaks at the connections,
the last thing u want is to have to jack ur car up again and take another 40 mins doing so because of not doing this step.

for you people who bought that pipe on ebay for 79 dollars (i know i did =) )
heres part two for ya'll
find the connection from #1 (cat) and #2 (uhhhh "down pipe") these two screws are the same as the muffler screws



then we meet up again with our friend the breaker bar:


so my car (behind the cat) is all 2 inch polished pipe, with mendrel bending, yea its a no name brand but still it sounds cool

heres the end result:
this is the connection from the loooooooong tube with a bent and the pipe after the cat (pretty much the connection above the front axle):

this is from under the front of my car looking at the connection after the cat (on the far right side of the pic) and follow that to the end of the car. it goes down the middle of the car and it turns left to the rear passenger tire above the rear axle

this is where you connect that long tube with the second pipe (pipe before the muffler)

same connection as you can see the pipe turning to the rear tire in the middle left of the picture:

my muffler:



difficulties i ran into:
not buying the breaker bar,
securing the car so it wont come down on me,
removing the nuts where breaker bar is needed,
***ALSO*** i will say this. this happened to me but may not happen to you. i noticed that my muffler #4 pipe was hitting against my tein spring. everytime i was idle at a red light and i was accelerating it would vibrate against my spring. if this does happen to you, do what i did, remember the triangular rubber thing that holds the exhaust up? well go to the middle one (NOT the muffler, the other one, there is only one other one) and WD-40 it up and take it off its hanger, leave the rubber on the exhaust on both spokes but take it off where it hangs from the car. and let the rubber thing push against that spoke thingy, notice the pipe and spring contact no more!!! if ur confused just play with it, you need the pipe to push towards the driver side, and by removing it from the hook from the car the rubber will be leaning against it and being pused to the driver side.

long story short:
jack up the car.
unbolt the old stock exhaust.
rebolt the new exahust.
test drive
and your done. its STRAIGHT FORWARD PEOPLE
this will be a good DIY that will test your ability of handiness

seriously all you need is the car to be up in the air, also its harder when the car is dropped =( the catback was an ebay kind, some cheap 140 dollar kind, sounds too loud =( and it was hitting the rear spring, so i had to unhook the rubber thingy, any questions? anything no one? =(

i got rid of that car for a black si....dont know if i should get them, but those tail lights are cheap! the long screws bend easily and yea. = )
