Painting my valve cover, Need help!!!

So I got off all the bolts and what not from the valve cover. But I can't lift it up high enough to get out. The valve cover keeps hitting the bottom of the windshield. What the hell am I doing wrong, and is there anything else I need to remove first?? I know that theres that plastic piece there right above the valve cover, does that come off?? Sorry if this has already been addressed, just in a bit of a bind right now. Thanks alot

was just looking at that, it has no pics and my valve cover goes up and hits the plastic piece at the base of the windshield, goes up about 2inches and stops when it hits the plastic piece

actually, the Si has alot of engine room compared to some of the cars ive worked on.

Try to remove a cylinder head from an is350 if you want a challenge.

or to be fair, try to remove just the valvle covers.

damn that looks nice, I thought about going bronze on my intake manifold since im painting my rims bronze but i already painted it black. Least the intake manifold is easy to change if I ever wanna change it. But that damn valve cover is gonna be red forever as i see it. lol
