I adjusted the brightness and contrast of the Hybrid's picture. We can see that there are 13 connectors. Maybe a 14th in the very bottom right corner. It definitely looks different than mine.

Kudos to anyone who pulls this off, but...

Maybe it is just me, but what is the appeal of climate control in a car? I guess it is kind of snazzy, but if the car is too hot or too cold, you have the knob right there...

Wouldn't be worth the trouble to me, but again, if someone manages this more power to ya.

you don't have to worry about ANY other connectors except the two gray ones on the CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT.

others are for Navi, SRS display, 4 ways, and interior temp sensor(which we need)

Umm, maybe try contacting these people:

http://collegehillshondaparts.com/

they have parts etc for the 2006 civic, though they seem to be lacking in the hybrid ones. maybe they have a way of finding out for you?

Good luck. Can't wait to see the results. Be sure to take lots of pics during and after the install. This would be an amazing DIY.

I think it's the same except as ours extra for the extra wiring harness for the one or two non existant (to our SIs) sensors. Once installed it may look weird with the blue bac (shouldn't be too hard to change with a soldering iron and red LEDs).

The hybrid utilizes a dual-stage electric/mechanical AC compressor (so the coolant still flows when IMA has the engine off) that our cars do not have. This compressor and the IMA system use the D-CAN bus to communicate things like engine power status (I.E. the Power Module tells the ACC system to activate the electric compressor because it has shut down the engine), among other things. While it's possible to spoof the CAN bus with a computer, I am guessing that's more than most people will want to do.
I'm thinking we may not need to "spoof" the CAN bus with a computer. It sounds as though we just need to fool the ACC into thinking the 'Hybrid's' engine is always running. Do you figure this communication is done digitally (thus the need to hack with a computer)? I'm thinking that there may be a signal we can simulate mechanically (relay? resistor?)?
