JDM Valve Cover
I saw that 954_K20 did the swap, but I have a few questions. It was recently brought to my attention that the K20z3 cover has 3 additional bolt holes on the right side of the cover. 1 on the side near the crank breather outlet and 2 on the same side but just pass the spark plug "valley".
The JDM cover (and every other K valve cover including the Z1) doesn't have these bolt holes. What are you guys doing to reattch yout stuff? Pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Comments or suggestions? Steve |

I haven't done this yet, but are those holes just to attach brackets or are the to hold down the valve cover? It looks like from the pictures that they are just there to hold on brackets for other wirring harnesses and such. If that is the case you can most likely get away with wire tying the harness to another existing harness or bracket.

It's funny, it's called a "J's Racing Valve Cover"...it's a Honda valve cover that's been powder coated (not even masked off I might add...) and then being sold as theirs.
No cool mods to it, it's just a powder coated cover...insane. Steve |

I've done the swap. Looking back at it, it wasn't worth the money, or the time it took to remove the cowl and everything to get it on. It is cool looking, but serves no performance purpose. But, the silver is super ugly. As far as the extra bolt holes, They are for brackets. I just let them hang. It doesn't seem to cause an issue at all, but may scratch the valve cover at some point. I'll go take a few pics in a minute. |
