Removing airbag question please help

i wish to install steering audio control and therefore need to remove my airbag. Can i just unplug the black and yellow connector instead of pulling the negative from the battery terminal as i do not wish to reset ECU. Is there a proper sequence whereby i have to unplug black connector first followed by yellow or just unplug any connector first will do. Greatly appreciated.

Disconnect the negative from the battery and wait 10 seconds for it to discharge. Then remove your airbag cover and the connectors. Removing the connections before hand could set the bag off by accident, and you really don't want that shit shooting you in the face at like 100 mph.

...and every broken bone in your face. But don't worry, as long as the battery is disconnected you should be good.

because it takes about 30 seconds more to do it the right way and remove the negative terminal.
but hey, if that 30 second job is worth the posssabilty of having an airbag go off....good luck

Yea, that would be the negative, but say for some odd reason, a spark jumps or something, that bag is going off. Have you ever seen one go off before?

When I was working for Chrysler, that's what it was. Every car is different, as we all know. I was just going off that experience.
