Wiring a ps2 (slim) video game console into glove compartment

Hey I'm thinking of mounting my small ps2 into my glove compartment, but don't know where to start. I don't have a aftermarket stereo with a LCD or separate LCD for that matter.

Have any of you done an install like this?

I was thinking of going with an aftermarket stereo like a Kenwood Dvd navigation stereo, but the price is just too steep for me at the moment. Not to mention you have to try to bypass the factory amp on the car or at least wire everything together properly to obtain a noise free setup just like stock.

Anybody know what to do?

What I really want to do now is just get information how to use one of the 2 12 volt outlets in my car for powering the ps2. Or maybe best I buy a convertor and try to power it that way huh? I just think that is alot of electricity going in there and if I got off the prong part of the convertor to tap into that cigarette lighter power source I might get zapped and die.

I need help please people..

Ok I read a few things googling around. Some people say that they used an inverter and wired that directly to the battery. Unfortunately if you forget to turn off your playstation it could drain your battery.

I did see somebody mention putting a fuse in between the wire and battery just to be safe.

Hmm..I was just thinking of going the easy way and putting a small inverter you could buy from best buy or something in the center console pocket. Plug that into the outlet there and running the playstation 2's adapter power cable right into there drilling a hole to make that possible.

Sounds like a better idea huh? That way I don't have to mess with cutting wires or blowing things up =\
