-_- I can believe someone made a thread like this. I always wear my seatbelt. Your an idiot for not wearing one. You might think your a good driver but someone else might not be. As someone that got hit headon in a Civic I thank Honda everyday for making their cars so safe. No worries this wasn't in my 06,lol It was in my 04 Civic.

If you dont wear your seatbelts your family will have the scrape your brains of the road when you get in an accident...

OK. So I ripped out that speaker chime. Now there's no more noise from the console and I've stopped wearing my seatbelt fullt time. It's just me and the free air. I'm so happy! Next mod is going to be disabling my air bags and probably riding around Shotgun with nobody in the drivers seat. I'll just throw my left leg over the console and press the gas. The brake will be a little harder to reach but I don't mind. That's what the E-brake is for, right!!!!!!!1!!!one!!11O!nE!

um... why did you you take your buzzer out... it is also helpful to remind you of other things, as in keys in the ignition or if you leave your lights on... all you had to do was disconnet the wire harness under the seat that goes to the seat belt buckle.... takes like 5 seconds to unplug it and it has no idea wether or not your belt is on...

This is indeed a humerous post.

1). I HATE THE SEATBELT REMINDER NOISE
2). I always wear my seatbelt, regardless.
3). Like someone else mentioned, I have a habit of putting my seatbelt on AFTER I start the car.
4). Before offering ideas and suggestions. Please read the entire thread, as it may have already been addressed. (I.E. You can't just disconnect the harness from the seatbelt as it disables your SRS (Supplimental Restraint System... I.E. You're Frickin Airbags! lol)

It'll be nice when car manufactures start integrating OS systems with GUI's into cars. So you can adjust things like the SEATBELT REMINDER VOLUME!!!!...

:)

Would been nice if there is a volume control for the speaker. I always wear my seatbelts but there are times that my friends who refuse to wear em and it drives me nuts. Eventually they'll put it on.

Ripping the speaker out wasn't a good thing to do. It would have been better to get a little piece of rubber, i.e. pencil eraser would work after trimming it down to size, and plug it up with it. So that way later when you sell the car you can remove the rubber plug unless the next guy hates it too.

You have to admit Honda put alot of effort into making this car the safest car to drive and I agree. Eight air bags, daylight running lights, sturdier frame and etc without the cost of a Mercedes for it's safety features.

^ True True ^

After taking that speaker out and ridding in shotgun I still found the existing security features to be a great annoyance. I've since torn out all side curtain airbags, and both front seats. The seatbelt shoulder straps swing around freely. This adds to the excitement when taking turns sharply.

Riding so low and far back gives me that ghetto feel and people think I look really cool. It really gives a sensation that you're in a lowrider. My butt is only inches off the ground. Next mod is going to be removable doors to get a quasi lowrider Jeep feel. Maybe a tricked out hydraulic system. I want the car to be unstable in the turns.

If anybody has some used Bridgestone Turanzas I will buy them. Mucho Dinero!!!

Wow.

Avoiding the sound, put it on before you put your car in DRIVE. I don't care for it really. It doesn't bother me that much.

I think the easiest solution would just to wear your damn seatbelts!

or you could click the belts in, and sit on top of them

Ok this thread might be a little dead. I do infact wear my seatbelt all the time, Darn conscience i.e. my wife. I tryed this on my 7th gen and it probablly works in the Si. Oh BTW i wore it back with my 7gen I just got really bored on night. Put alil aluminun foil over the seat belt clip clip it in and the unclip the foil should now be gone as with the sound.

ok since my previous idea of just unplugging the seatbelt harness supposedly doesn't work...... try this ( another simple solution ). Find a wreckin yard with some civics in it, get a pocket knife, cut out the two front buckles, or rear buckles may work too...??? and just simply plug and play them into your vehicle. Car will think you are wearing your belt and everyones happy that is of course until you get pulled over, then the cop will be happy and I bet you will pissed at him for doing his job. But none the less even though i do not support this, i hate to see people ripping their new civics apart and having the potential of doing some sever electrical damage just to avoid wearing a safety belt. Come on guys work smarter, not harder

Come on guys...

Are you all serious on the statements you've made saying, "I always wear my seatbelt, so the chime doesn't bother me."

Well, I don't always wear my seatbelt, and this stinkin' buzzer does bother me. I don't need a Nanny or babysitting device reminding me or anyone else in my car to put one on.

I got a loaner Accord and it buzzes away, prompting me to call Honda and look into this issue on this site. I'm actually picking up the car today (we almost had a Hurricane, so I kept it at the dealer until the storm was over) and this was almost a dealbreaker for me.

In all seriousness, I've been riding motorcycles for 13 years and in Florida there is no helmet law. I wear mine anyhow, cause that's my head in there. But you're gonna tell me that I can ride around on 2 wheels at 100mph with no helmet, but I gotta put a seatbelt on when I get in my car, surrounded by steel and multiple airbags...I call Bullsh!t. And to make matters worse, we ALL have to listen to this annoying chime ringing 6 times in a row, reminding us to do so!

Ok, I'm done with my rant, but I still need to disconnect this buzzer!:)

like i said before you can do it the hard way, or just go grab a buckle from a wreckin yard. it ll work just the same with no labor required and to put it back to stock is as easy as the push of a button....
