Very easy way to do this if you cna't find the plug in bulb and no soldering needed as well
Before: Nasty 3.5 year old worn out yellow bulbs
Here is what I bought: 4 pack of super bright LED's
Here is the squeew number so you can type it in online:
Remove all 4 LED's
Trim them to size leave about an inch of wire on the ends and then double them up and put the white with black wires together and the all black wires together.
Bend the wires 90 degrees up just after the resistor inside the white shrink wrap. With socket removed from car push the LED's in behind where the actual glass bulb used to plug in. Wires will come up in front of the bulbs.
Look at where the bulb used to plug in. On each side you will see metal tabs that would run up along side the bulb. Left Tab is Positive plug the black wire with the white stripe in on left side between socket and metal tab. (You can do this using a small jewlery screwdriver.) Then on the right side plug in the all black wires.
Should look Like this when done:
Then on the back side of socket trim small notches on each side of tab with an exactoblade this is the part that runs up behind the bulb. This will be imperative for the next step.
Using the tie wraps that came around the wires attached to the LED's in the begining wrap it around the tab and the LED's this will keep LED's in place.
The notches cut into the tab will keep the tie wrap from sliding up and off th socket. bend LED's on a 45 degree angle twards you.
Here is how it should look:
Plug it in and test it to see iff they light up:
Then plug both in and up inside trunk where they belong shut trunk and enjoy.
The whole mod cost me 9 bucks from advance auto.
It took me 20min to put together as well. :thumb:
Hope you like it :thumb:
