So I purchased the k2 foglights from ebay (seller name is now GforceUSA) for my 2008 Si Sedan, and although there were many posts on here that were certainly helpful, I thought that posting a DIY for the Sedan install would be a good addition to the site.
The fogs came quickly (3 business days) and seemed to include everything needed other than instructions and some self-tapping screws.
The install took me roughly 4 hours, but with proper tools for cutting the bumper, it would have been less than 3.
So lets start the install:
Disconnect Negative Terminal of Battery...
Remove Bumper... 1 screw under each wheelwell (as pictured), 6 plastic stoppers from underneath the bumper, and then the 4 plastic stoppers from under the hood to remove plastic which covers the front part of the engine bay. This is necessary to get to the 5mm hex bolts that hold the top of the bumper in... then just give it a little elbow grease and BAM! You got yourself a bumper...
Next, I would recommend that in addition to the taping that I did (pictured) you tape the entire bumper. I know you probly think that is overkill, but it will prevent any scratching. I did not do it, and ended up with a couple small scratches on my bumper
Now it is time to cut out the slots for the lights... follow the collegehills pdf for this... I ended up using only a box cutter, which sucked and was slow. I had a hacksaw but it wasn't even strong enough to cut the bumper without bending. In the end, my method worked, but was not pretty or easy. The proper tool would make this MUCH MUCH MUCH easier.
Bent Hacksaw...
Hack-job... yet effective and not visible from outside of the vehicle
Consult the Collegehills PDF and install mounting brackets onto the lights... use 4 self-tapping screws to put in the lights and make sure the light covers line up well-enough to screw them in as well... as shown in the next two pictures...
Alright, so for some reason one of my brackets did not align properly... so only 3 of the 4 screw-in points were used. It still felt like it was in tightly, so I guess 3 out of 4 isn't too bad for 1/5 of the cost fog lights. As shown below..
Attach the first harness to the lights, making sure that the white plug is on the passenger side of the bumper...
Now install the next harness, which has a white plug, a brown plug, and a ground...
The Brown plug connects to the Brown plug that is next to the washer-fluid reservoir. Mine was covered with some sort of lubricant and I left it on, which was no problem...
Remove this 10mm bolt and attach the ground to it, then screw it back in...
This is how it should look now... the white plug remains, which will be connected to the white plug coming from the fog lights in the bumper when the bumper is re-attached
Now re-attach the bumper (easier with help... thankfully my girlfriend helped me out!) Also, you could wait to do this step last... but I did it at this point.
Now you are almost done... just time to do the interior wiring.
Remove the two panels lower dash panels which cover the fuse area, etc
Remove the White Harness (as shown) and remove the Gray Cover. Insert the White/Red wire from your harness into the empty slot between the Brown Wire and the Red Wire. You will hear a click noise when it is in.
Sorry for the crappy quality... but you can see the empty space in the top right area...
Now there are two blue plugs on your harness... the one that also has White on it and is slightly bigger will not be used... The other one plugs in to the left just above your fuses...
This is the Blue one that will NOT BE USED
Reach behind the empty button-slots next to the VSA button, and push out one of the dummy-buttons. Then feed the green plug up through that hole, and plug in your button!
This pic is taken lying on my back looking up toward the steering column... this is where I grounded the ground wire from the harness...
Now plug the brown plug from the harness into the brown plug with blue wire which can clearly be seen when lying on your back looking up... Pictured:
The black plug gets plugged into the provided relay, which can be ziptied or mounted wherever you please
Plug the fuse into slot 6...
re-connect battery... and...
Thats basically it...
Enjoy...
