so call me dumb, please....I have only owned 1 import

What does this to to help out throttle response?

My buddy has one on his 06 Si and it makes the whole car vibrate....

There is a huge improvement in how connected the clutch and throttle feel to the engine. I ran down the street and my shifts were smoother (it was like I was being very ginger with the clutch only I wasn't...I was just dropping it either but casually shifting). I turned on the A/C and there was a slight increase in vibration similar to turning it on at low speed: 10-15 mph.

On the road, I tried a launch from 4k rpm and floored it and the tires squeeled instead of chirping spiratically and then the car took off. VTEC is MUCH more agressive sounding and there is more response once the clutch engages.

In summary, I believe the biggest increase is the noise but it's all good noise. This thing does exactly what everyone says it will. It's fantastic. If it would make a difference, I'd install another...somewhere...not really. Thanks Ingalls! Oh and Corsport...I got the ETD two business days after I ordered it.

^^from the last page

cliffnotes: it absorbs the energy caused by the engine when you floor it, thus, reducing wheel hop

They claim its 14 mm preload but mine was more like 12 mm I shortened it to 11 mm ..

The only thing that really confused me was the stiffness settings. Seeing they claimed that it is suposed to be 14 mm I began lowering it without checking the original mm preload. after lowering it a bit .. I noticed I was at 11 mm already .. so it couldnt have come with 14mm. And I really dont know what everyone was talking about how there car rattles all over the place. It makes a bit of noise when im lifting off the clutch but as long as I give it a bit of gas there is nothing. One thing I noticed is it makes the car sound louder..and my shifts are very smooth now. Great product .. worth every penny !
Hey maybe I missed something, but anyone know why the car would sound louder?

Your soft rubber motor mounts (stock) are designed to do one thing: dampen out vibration! The "stiffy" pretty much connects your engine to your chassis and is sending more vibration throughout the entire body of the car and most noticeably to you, the cabin. According to CorSport, the stiffy is supposed to be the least drastic in terms of vibration increase when compared to the other methods of reducing wheel hop.

Im not 100% sure but Im pretty positive that this thing will work on R18's the mounting points for the brackets seem to be the same so I dont know why it wouldnt fit. Has anyone with an R18 tried to fit it on their car?

Had to go back and re-adjust it. MAKE SURE U R USING MM AND NOT CM!!!
11mm is just under 1/2 inch. I was using a y tape measure the first time.

Hi all,

When adjusting the ETD, do you all unmount it from the brackets first? Or have you been able to adjust the stiffness with it mounted?

Thx....

I know there is a clearance issue with the stiffy when you install the NST (Non-stop Performance) underdrive pulleys. Has anyone had the clearance issues with this ETD when the Unorthadox Pulleys are installed?

Really? why do you have to take it off? I set mine for 15mm originally then I went back and made it 11mm but kept it on. Is this wrong? I did notice a rattle when I come out of 1st slow. Kinda thought it was my exhaust ratlin but now im not sure.

no there isn't. not on the new ETD's, the bracket is modified by Ingall's so that pulleys will work.

that's common sense. anyone in this thread saying it makes a difference which way the bolt goes is poorly misinformed.
