Ok so I waxed my car today with Meguiars NXT wax. I followed all the steps I usally do except this time its streaked. My car wasnt hot at all and I in complete shade. Any ideas on why this happened and how do I get rid of those nasty streaks its driving me nuts.

Sounds like you either did not apply the wax thoroughly to the surface so that there is an appearance of streaks, or as was mentioned, too much product was used, or the buffing out process was not done enough.

I would wash the car, then redo it, this time using a very light coat of wax. I have been waxing cars since 1970 and cannot say that I have ever experienced what you are describing. I am sure it will be simple to rectify.

What kind of towels did you use to remove the wax? I would highly recommend getting microfiber towels rather than cotton towels unless you have already done so.

I only use mf towels on my Si. No cotton will ever touch its paint surface. One other thing you might try is some quick detailer either by Mother's [which I prefer] or Meguiar's. Spray some on and see if it removes the streaks. Usually quick detailer will smooth things out.

yeah thats what I was about to say. You're going to have to do the whole car's paint again with a cleaner dry MF rag and some QD. It'll come out

If you experience streaking you can take a damp MF towel, glide it over a section and the quickly dry it off with a separate dry MF towel. This will usually remove the streaking.

It's possible the panel was hot/warm, some weather conditions can have unfavorable results, you may have applied it on too thick, or it may not have been 100% ready to be removed.

Hope this helps,

Rasky

yep!. I just bought the california duster for when I got dust on my ride. It's on some newspaper right now for 48 hours as the directions say to do this cause of the wax thats on it. I've been wanting to use one of these instead of a QD and MF towel and wiping all the time. I've heard good things about this duster MOP looking thing LOL. Hope it works.
