scratch repair emergancy! please help!

i was detailing my car so i could take pictures of it for a customer so it was sitting outside last night and my mom parked like 10 inches behind me and i go outside to put it in the garage and let it roll back a bit and it hit my moms car. the scratches werent deep, it was just the paint.

today i tried to follow the instructions for scratch repair using one of those kits from Autozone and it ended in disaster. after wetsanding it lightly and then applying the touch-up paint and clearcoat i sanded it a bit more to smooth it out and now the entire area looks like an asshole and i feel like killing something. there is a guy who want so come out this weekend to maybe pick it up.

what can i do to fix it? would someone be able to buff/polish it? or do i have to get the whole ******* bumper replaced?

i take perfect car if this thing, i barely touch it, use micro fiber stuff and then this happens!!! wtf?!

how long did you wait to sand it after the paint and clear? it looks like it was sanded too early. If thats the case, u gotta sand again, get all that shit off and do it all over again.

If you polish it, it would make your paint shiny again. But you probably would still be able to tell where the touch up paint is.

it pretty much looked normal, just 3 scratches on the raised parts that just went though the paint.

Get some of this 3M compound and then follow it up with a polish like Meguiars #9 or even ScratchX if you have it. It will remove the sanding scratches.

since the clearcoat and paint isnt completely dry is there anything can put on it that would strip off that stuff but not the oem stuff? then i could just get it polished and sell it with the scratches.

I freaked out because at first I thought you said it was a customer's car. You'd be in real deep $%^& if it was. Looks like it's just the HFP lip, if you can't fix it just get a new one?

I'd wait till tomorrow if you want to buff it. You should be able to remove with thinner long after it has dried if you choose to do so.
