Car Cover: Keeping my car clean

I was just wondering if anyone had experiences with any car covers... I dont want to pay 170$ for a car cover.. I'd rather wash it a lot more often than pay that haha.. but yeah.. I stumbled across a car cover by coverking.. I'm pretty sure thats who costco carries but does custom car covers for 110.

Anyone have experience with car covers? I have none.
Link to one I stumbled across:
1992-2006 Honda Civic - Coverking Car Cover - Triguard - Gray

I really dont want to buy a car cover that is going to do harm to my paint either by scratching it

I use the California Car Cover Storm Weave series cover. Every cover is made to fit your car like a glove. I paid around $200. The material itself will not scratch your paint, its even replacement guaranteed if it doesn't.

I'll take a pic with mine installed so you can see. Working in a shipyard, its money well spent for me.

material itself may not scratch your paint, but the dust that got on your car
prior to covering will.

car covers are better for cars that are not used for more than a week at a time, imho.

I bought a car cover and it left little scratches due to dust, and this after I washed my car. My opinion, car covers would be fine for paint colors that don't show scratches very easily. RR is not one of those colors.

Isn't your car silver? How could you possibly have to wash that every day?

I'd never throw a car cover on my car unless it was made of some very, very expensive material. Any cheap crap will most likely put hairline scratches all over your paint every time you slide it on and off.

well, if the cover doesn't fit well it means it will flap around possibly
fly off. it's not going to do the job.

it's either spend the money to get a real car cover, or just wash the
car.

but as i mentioend earlier, car covers are meant for cars that are
not driven that often (imho). it's pretty clumsy to work with, it gets
dirty (even if it's just dust) something i wouldnt want to deal with
every morning before going to work.

im looking at getting a light weight one for my modded G35C pretty
soon though. i only drive the car on the weekend nice days.
