What kind of buffer? A rotary can easily damage the paint in the wrong hands. A Porter Cable is much more friendly and easy to use. You can polish then follow up with a sealant, that's fine. If you aren't doing the work all at once, make sure it's at least in an enclosed area so you don't get excess debris from the air landing on the paint and you buffing it into the paint, creating more damage than your taking out.
Happy detailing. |

You can definetly polish and seal w/o waxing. The sealant will provide protection for your paint. If you want that extra degree of shine and depth, a good coat of wax would help, but a good sealant like Wolfgang, Natty's EXP or Jet Seal will give a shine to the car.
