Got it. I totally agree with what you mean then. Wax is essential in protecting the paint from airborne contaminants and dust. For me, even light dust I now address by just washing the car again. VQ Power often will use Mother's detailing spray if we wax the car, take a drive and there is a light coating of dust. Anything heavier and I just wash again.

Welcome to the world of black.
![]() I recommend buying a Porter Cable or G100. You will spend $150+ to get a professional detailer to bring the paint back to show car status. With that $150 you could have your own polisher and it will help maintain the paint and reduce the amount of time you will have to spend working on the car to keep it like new. These polishers are pretty much noob proof so don't worry about messing up the paint. There is an excellent training DVD out there that shows you how to properly use the polisher, coving proper technique, size of working area, speed setting, pressure, and time. It also covers a few other detailing things like clay bar and ScratchX. Check it out... G100 Meguiars DVD Auto Detailing Training DVD Rasky

OP, I truly feel your pain. But trust me, check out the "Mother of all detailing threads" and give it a good read. I felt like my paint on my NHBP at 20k miles was a lost cause, but I decided to give detailing the car a chance today. Just allow yourself 5-6 hours and you'll end up a happy camper. Here's my proof:
Hard work pays off! Take a look at the closeup and you'll see that I'm swirl free. Now for the rock chips...that's something we all have to deal with. Just think of them as battle scars. Last edited by tehcodeman; 04-18-2008 at 03:19 AM. |

Everyone should check out this thread if they think NHBP is too hard to keep clean. I want everyone to look at the results as they are stunning. Shows what some hard work and the right products can do:
Hard work pays off!

Also, I've heard that people have dried their cars with leaf blowers instead of using towels! |

You need to use Meguiar's #7 Show car glaze first. It will add nourishment to the paint and add incredible depth and smoothness. After that, I would recommend using a sealant followed up by a quality carnauba wax. PM me if you want more specifics.

Oh god! Nature is out to get us. I have water marks like none other, I'll park far away from lawns and stuff STILL the wind would take the sprinkles of water onto my car and I swear birds target my Si. But yea, I guess we just have to polish like hell and keep it covered but you have a garage so lucky you!
