Whats wrong with my hood?

It seems like the hood is "splotchy"...those darker regions are not shadows or reflections thats how it actually is.
its a vis oem style hood.

Any ideas on how to fix it or what it is???

Thanks

or you can use a very fine sand paper(like 3000grit) and sand the whole thing. then use some scratch remover to remove the sand marks and make it shiny.

thanks for the quick and constructive replies
guna try to use a polish to remove the oxidation. if that doesnt work i'll see if i can get that re-cleared. i hope its the oxidation and not actual damage to the carbon fiber

the clear they use is cheap so goes bad if you dont maintain it. if you do get it recleared hey will use a good clear and prevent this from reoccuring.

yeah i've got a shop that'll do good work for sure
just kinda choked about the whole thing..bought it off another member(for a good price) and i didnt notice till i put it on (my fault)
i searched up a few pictures of oxidized hoods on google and it seems those hoods lack a shine and have like white residue built up but that doesnt seem to be the case with my hood. the shine is definetly there..jsut some spots are darker

You should try polishing it. If that doesn't work wet sand it.

i've had a VIS CF hood on my car for about 4 years now without anything wrong with the clearcoat whatsoever. I haven't done anything extra to maintain it.

before u seriously damage the hood beyond repair, just take to good shop. The key is to take it to a shop that has done it before and just get it fixed. Because even if u fix it yourself eventually this will happen again, and u might not have enough clear coat to wet send it again.

i'll admit that i don't know alot about CF, but this can happen with paint as well. My dad's hood was damaged on his BMW and when his shop (i think they're crap but whatev) repainted it, the color matched but under bright lights like at the gas station at night you could see that the color was not consistent compared to BMW's typically flawless paint. Maybe the clearcoat is inconsistent in thickness?
