like i do,
1-degreaser
2-wash/dry
3-tire dressing (to give it a chance to dry)
4-claybar
5-DC step1
6-#7 glaze
7- NXT2.0
8- DC step3
9-Vinylex trim
10-whipe tires (remove excess undried tire dressing)

what kind of degreaser would you prefer ? and what is dc step 1 and step 3

For pads, get the W8006 yellow pads. They can be used for polishing. You can use a W9006 for finishing with wax.

well today i purchased a MF washh mitt, these are the steps il be doing everything in hope its correct please correct me if i did a step wrong

1 car wash + Dry( i use a leather chamoi to dry is this reccomended ?)
2 meguiars clay bar kit(first time i ever use a clay bar)
3 meguiars step 1 deep crystal paint cleaner
4 meguiars show car glaze polish #7
5 Two coats of tech wax 2.0
6 mothers reflections top coat high gloss
7 wolfgang deep gloss paint sealent(guessing this is last since it needs 12 hours to cure)

i was thiinking maybe i could do step 7 before 6 and just do step 6 the next day? I still dont know if i am gonna do this by hand or DA polisheri really want that meguiars g110 really bad but 150+shippin is alot but i know i would use it alot on my car friends cars and familys car i could probably make some money out of it

p.s. what pads do i need to buy i dont think il be doing much cutting because paint is really fresh only bout year old , buffing pads ? new to buffer machine so i dont know which pads to get and how many ?
If you are going to use the Meguiar's NXT 2.0, you can skip the sealant as both are synthetic polymers. What you could do is to seal and then use a good carnauba wax. In any case, always use sealant before waxing.

Here's what I would recommend:
1. wash
2. clay
3. Meguiar's deep crystal paint cleaner
4. Meguiar's #7
5. Meguiar's NXT 2.0
6. Mother's Reflections Top Coat

I just got done doing my G35 and it is stunning. 4 levels of polish and in some cases 6. I used Griot's 1,2,3,4 polishes and tried out Meguiar's #80 and 82 with my random orbital buffer.

Paint was sealed with 3 coats of Jet Seal. Next, it was glazed with #7 and glossed with Wolfgang deep paint gloss, waxed with Natty's Blue carnauba and a coat of PS21 and Mother's Top Coat. Car looks like a mirror.

man Nitrous, I just finished detaling my car, and it looks amazing! I went out and bought pretty much everything you listed and it was well worth it. Just wanted to say thanks.

Chip Foose does commercials with it. It is supposed to be pretty good at helping with waxing. He uses the Powerball 4paint and it looks like it is a good way to polish and buff with just a good drill. MOTHERS®: Products

I am very happy to hear that. NHBP has the prettiest blue metalflake. It looks incredible in bright sunlight. Glad to be of service.

quick question:

I'm going to go wash my car right now. Last time, I just applied the products one by one, is that ok? Or do I have to apply one product, wipe it off, then apply the next, wipe it off, and so on and so on? I just applied one on top of the other and when I was finished I wiped them off with some quick detailer. It came out good, but I'm not sure if that was the way to do it.

^How is each product supposed to work if it can't touch the paint?

Bryan, you are fine. You should apply the products one by one as you mentioned. You did the right thing. I am sure your car looks great.

^ Autogeek is a great place. I buy a lot of stuff from them. They have some great tutorials as well. Autogeek along with Chemical Guys and Top of the Line Detailing are places that get my hard earned dollars.

Haha.. after my chemical guys detail my car looked like Alabaster Silver Mirror.

I did the whole she-bang. How often should I do what though, like wax or clay or polish

Claying should only be done maybe twice a year unless you are dealing with a lot of contaminants on the paint surface and if the paint feels rough.

Polishing again is something that should be done when swirls, scratches or spiderwebbing is present. Otherwise, maybe once a year or twice should suffice.

Waxing is something that depends on how anal you are. I often wax each week after each major washing. The car looks better. I like to have my car looking brand new all the time, so I wax frequently.
