Well, for what you did, it looks pretty darned good to me. BTW, I am envious of your Mugen. Wouldn't mind having one myself.

I put everything you need to know on the first page of this thread. For a short answer, yes, the steps you mentioned are correct.

I just want to say that my car would never have looked as good as it does now without all of the helpful info from this forum!

Steps I used:
1. Washed with Meguiars Gold Class
2. Clay bar with Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay Kit
3. #7 Show Car Glaze (thought about doing ScratchX, but there weren't really any scratches or swirl marks so I skipped that step)
4. 2 coats of NXT 2.0 liquid TechWax

Hi,

I have an 08 Civic that hasn't seen a wash since the day I bought it about 4 months ago. I know know. Finally getting all the necessary products delivered sometime next week. Was just curious, my car is absolutely grimmey, has some tree sap and bird droppings. I've heard Simple Green is good at getting out grime and brake and tar from the lower panel. But is it really safe to use Simple Green on the car's paint? And if so what's the best way to use it?

In addition, since my car is brand new, should I use Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner? Does it diminish the paint, ie is it abraisive enough to strip the paint? I'd like to use it conidering the 4 months of neglect?

Thanks.

Get either some Mother's claybar or Meguiar's claybar. Spray the detailing spray liberally on each panel as well as the clay. You should be able to get the paint finish smooth and clean.

If you have any minor scratches or swirls, use the Deep Crystal cleaner wax. Try the claybar before you try anything else. If you still are not satisfied with how it looks, post up and Rasky or I can give your further advice.

Here is Meguiar's website for their G110. The G220 is sold in Australia only.
Meguiar's® Dual Action Polisher G110 Product Information Some of the guys on the Meguiar's forum claim they got theirs at Advance Auto Parts.

Your products look great. By all means, use #7 Show Car Glaze. It will work wonders on Fiji Blue. I too have an FBP FA5. Only problem is that I just got rear-ended today and the rear end is kind of a mess. My transmission is also screwed up as well.

Isn't that for wheels? I would have to say don't use it.

EDITED ...

well today i purchased a MF washh mitt, these are the steps il be doing everything in hope its correct please correct me if i did a step wrong

1 car wash + Dry( i use a leather chamoi to dry is this reccomended ?)
2 meguiars clay bar kit(first time i ever use a clay bar)
3 meguiars step 1 deep crystal paint cleaner
4 meguiars show car glaze polish #7
5 Two coats of tech wax 2.0
6 mothers reflections top coat high gloss
7 wolfgang deep gloss paint sealent(guessing this is last since it needs 12 hours to cure)

i was thiinking maybe i could do step 7 before 6 and just do step 6 the next day? I still dont know if i am gonna do this by hand or DA polisheri really want that meguiars g110 really bad but 150+shippin is alot but i know i would use it alot on my car friends cars and familys car i could probably make some money out of it

p.s. what pads do i need to buy i dont think il be doing much cutting because paint is really fresh only bout year old , buffing pads ? new to buffer machine so i dont know which pads to get and how many ?

i was alwasy told to do the sealent before the normal wax. But the tech Wax 2.0 is a sealent as well.

when you say 3 meguiars deep crystal polish.... are you talking about a meguiars deep crystal step 1 or a meguiars deep crystal step 2 type of thing, b/c the way its written meguiars deep crystal polish (wich is what they call their step 2) & meguiars #7 Glaze are close to the same thing, Unless you are talking about meguiars deep crystal cleaner polish (cleaner wax) like the meguiars deep crystal step 1 is then its right.

Well step 2 and #7 glaze are basically the same thing, I would use #7 over step 2 (i have a darker color car) use deep crystal step 1 cleaner wax before deep crystal step2 or #7 but you dont need to use BOTH step 2 and #7.

like i do,
1-degreaser
2-wash/dry
3-tire dressing (to give it a chance to dry)
4-claybar
5-DC step1
6-#7 glaze
7- NXT2.0
8- DC step3
9-Vinylex trim
10-whipe tires (remove excess undried tire dressing)
