Carbon Fibre Hood Maintenance?

Did a quick search on it and didnt quite find any answers
So my question is :
How are you supposed to maintain a carbon fibre hood to prevent it from the yellowing/drying i've read about somewhere in the past?
Just wax it regularly ?

Thanks

I'd just treat it like anything else that's painted. The resin is just a clear so if it yellows then have it buffed. Find yourself a good sealant and keep fresh wax on it and it should give you many years of carbon fiber bliss.

I used to just wax mine regularly. I waxed my car every 2-3 months. I bought my hood used and when I got rid of it, it was a good 3 years old. It still looked like new, no fading or yellowing. Just wax it and you will be fine. It was a VIS hood if it matters

argh. so i picked up the hood (off another member for a great price) and didnt notice this problem till i put it on (my fault).

If you can see, there are darker spots on the hood in the blue circled regions..no they arent due to shadows or stuff reflecting.its actually a diff colour.

Does anyone know how i can fix this? Is this due to the rest of the hood yellowing from the sun, or damage to the actual carbon fiber from engine heat?

The way i see it i have a few options:
-get a shop to sand down and re-clear thehood (which wuld get rid of the small nicks here and there )
-a member on a subaru forum had impressive results restoring his hood by just claybarring it
-polish it in hopes of the discoloration just being oxidation

any help is greatly appreciated
