OKay. I was only going to seal and then carnuba cause of where i live and Bill had suggested it as a good idea. I was going to wash, clay, polish wwith something like 80 since my car has swirls but maybe only 600 miles on it, then glaze with 7, seal with 21, and then carnuba it with Mothers Pure liquid carnuba.
Here in Wyo, it gets super crappy in winter and they will use all kinds of crap on the road. So I was hoping that thick layer would last awhile and then I could pressure wash and quick detail until it was at least relatively warm.

I detail the interior maybe 8x year.

You only polish when you need to.

Basically, the only time you need to polish is when you have marring or swirling. My daily driver non-garaged 09 Civic is kept in great condition with proper techniques and materials, and after 8 months of ownership so far I've only given it 1 mild polish, just recently.

You only polish when you need to.
You wash when you want to.
You wax when you want to. (Granted, much less frequently than washing).

Not sure if that answers your question, but hope it does.
I think that pretty much sums it up. My system is very similar to yours.

I also hate the term layering. The term uniform coverage is better because after 2-3 coats the thickness of the wax/sealant peaks. Any further applications are simply removing previous applications (layers if you must). This has finally been backed up (proven) over on Detailingworld, where a member with some VERY expensive measuring equipment has done some testing.

You will like the combination of a sealant with carnuba over it! I am absolutely in love with blackfire wet diamond with midnight sun on top

what should I use on my RR sedan to make it shine as close to my NBP as possible? Obviously it's not going to match the shine of an NBP.

carnauba?

Well both cars have the same clear coat on them right? So really, if something makes your NBP ride look good, then it should make the RR car look good, no?

That being said I like a good nuba on my Milano Red TSX.

I happened to see this on the Truth In Detailing forum today. This is a must read for detailing newbs IMO. It's an excellent illustration on removing paint defects by Todd Helm!

My question is that im a little disapointed becaused i was unable to remove a lot of swirls, the paint wasnt i very bad condition, what are yor thoughts??

One thought: On my Civic, I had great success w/ the G110/yellow Polishing pad speed 5, but with the much more mild M205 polish. Polished out great. Even though it's a finishing polish, I found it to be quite effective on our paint.

I'm thinking that the Ultimate Compound might have been a bit too strong for your soft new Honda paint, and induced some micro-marring at the same time that it was polishing out other swirls.

Remember to start out with the least abrasive product (Rasky how many times have we heard this on MOL )and move up to stronger polish if the weak polishes aren't doing the job.

Of course though; once you polish with something strong, you generally want to polish once again with a mild finishing polish (like m205) to reduce the micromarring that was induced by the strong polish? Make sense? (Another MOL phrase ).

That's just one factor to consider...why your polishing didn't turn out as expected.

You may need to do more than one pass with UC if the paint is really bad. I would also follow it up with SwirlX. Yes you can use the 7" pads. Make sure you are applying enough pressure too, but not so much that the oad stops rotating. Making a black mark on the backing plate with a sharpie will help you see when it's rotating.
