Microfiber towel - wouldn't a tag on the towel scratch surfaces?

I just got a pack of 20 microfiber towels from costco for $9 or so. I washed one of them first for testing and did some testing on it and it was quite good.
But then I saw this tag at the edge of it saying 80% polyester or something. Wouldn't this tag cause scratches when it comes in contact with surfaces? Do you say return?

HaHa. . noI would NOT return them. I have a ton of microfiber towels and I just ripped the tags off of them to keep them from scratching. Also. . they make special towels with no stitching on the corners made for buffing your paint. Oh yeah. . and when you do wash them make sure not to put fabric softener in the load when you wash the towels or use dryer sheets when drying them or they will make your windows streaky when you use them to clean up.

Wouldn't just cutting it off make it worse? I thought about doing so but wouldn't it make the edges even rougher? Wouldn't it better to keep the tag so at least you know where the tag is so you don't use that particular side/fold when you use it?

take a small knife and take out the tread its using. its usualy a seperate thread from the main edge one. yes it "could" scratch but i realy doubt it, more likley it would put a line through the wax or make a swirl.

Just sorta wad the towel up so that none of the edges are in contact with the surface of whatever you are cleaning, that's what I do, and it doesn't scratch nothin
