getting rid of rock chips?

ok i went a road track today and spun out into the dirt with LOTS of little rocks. and basically the whole side of the Si looks worse than my bumper. do i have to sand it down and re-paint to repair the damage? im desparate. btw im never going back there with my SI again lol

i'll post pics after i take some shots during daytime. i think i'll have to wait for a paint job instead using touch up for the WHOLE door and panels. dammit i so regret taking that turn hard.

Aww man that sucks, sorry to see that ;(

Get it professionally fixed if it bothers you a ton.. DIY rock chip fixing rarely nets great results.

That will cost quite a bit to repair professionally. A body shop will have to redo the whole side paint job.

Not to thread steal, but how about fixing 1 rock chip? I've had my car for less than a month and when I was washing it yesteday I noticed I had 2 small chips on my hood above my headlight. Will touch up paint cover this?

P.S. I about cried when I saw the chips.

No, you will have to repair it to look good. Your rim has some bad curbage, too. You don't treat your car very well, do you?

I talked to a guy I know who own's a body shop. He says he has a clear coat additive that is guaranteed not to scratch from kicked rocks and bugs. Has anybody heard of anything before? I don't think the guy is scamming me, he is one of my friends.

Did you read his first post? Of course it went through torture - it basically went into a gravel pit from what it sounds (and looks) like. Why be so harsh on the guy when he's asking for help on what to do to fix it. Heckling in a thread like this is just making you look like a jerk, man.

To the OP, regrettably you will have to take it to a professional to fix unless you want it looking worse than the way it is now. Those wheels need some love, but they will probably be the cheapest part to repair. The side will be the most expensive, but it would be worth it if you want it fixed and fixed right.
