I've been using ICE almost every weekend since I got my car, but have decided to change over to NXT now, because I'm getting lazy and getting more work, ICE is more of a quick wax IMO. When I put a new coat on after a week it feels like the previous one is already gone.

I just put 3 coats of NXT on my car over the last 3 days (and ICE on my exterior black plastic stuff), hopefully it will last a few months.

However, you can't beat the convienience of ICE, I may put it on top of my NXT when I wash it, and I really don't think there is a too much for the stuff, it wears off so quickly. However I really don't think it lasts longer than a wash or two.

Maybe I'm wrong but as far as I know a Polisher's main duty is to enhance the gloss of your paint not protect it. What you have to do after applying a polisher is to seal the job with a wax layer.

For that reason in some automotive shops you see many 3 piece paint protection kit from different vendors.

1) Paint Cleaner
2) Polisher
3) Wax

I recommend claybar/wax kit from maquiers (i never remember how to spell that). It's about $20 and comes with two claybars, detailer spray, wax and microfiber cloth. Wash and dry the car. Use the claybar (with lots of the detailer spray so the surface is always wet) to clean the paint surface. Turn and fold the claybar often when it looks dirty. Wipe off claybar residue with microfiber. It's amazing how smooth the surface feels after doing this - even on newer paint. Makes you realize the damage that is done to your surface from the sun and environment. Then seal the deal with the cleaner wax. Wipes off incredibly easily and leaves a nice wet looking finish.

A "polish" is to reduce swirls and micro-marring. Swirls are so evident because the edges reflect light. A polish cuts down those edges so they don't reflect the light anymore and become invisible.

As for the waxing, just apply new wax when the beading starts to diminish.

I've been using the ICE wash and wax and in my opinion its amazing. don't get me wrong I love NXT and I'm very skeptical about trying a new product (especially on my car) but I'm happy I tried ICE and recommend it for a quick detail. for a longer lasting detail NXT or zaino FTW
