Hard water spots etched in clear!!!

i noticed on my si after i wax it and on my buddys car to that u can see these little dots and water spots that just dont come out on the roof and trunk lid and are very annoying to look at. but you can only see them if your up close on a angle. it bothers me very much. and yes i have clayed polished etc... is there any way to get these out of the paint without buffing??? and i tried scratch x it did nothing.

How did you try Scratch X?

Did you just use a Micro fibre cloth? Sponge Applicator? Did you put some elbow grease into it? Use a Buffer.

Scratch X will take out a lot of things if used correctly. It's an abbrasive that diminishes with application. Meaning, the more pressure you apply the better it works, if you wipe it on and basically just rub it off, it ain't gonna do anything but make you frustrated with Scratch X.

Pictures would be useful too. :)

I have them too. They are from acid rain (go DC!). Any luck getting them out? I'm not sure how to unless I use a compound. All over my hood, roof, trunk and front/rear windshields.

A decent machine polish should remove them.

I think we can all agree that Honda paint is soft/sucks and is very thin. Not a combo. I have serious acid etching as well on my trunk and spoiler that some aggressive polish (Menzerna Power Gloss) has not been able to remove. At this point, I am worried that any more CC removal will compromise the integrity of the paint. I hope the rest of you fair better than me but take caution.

I just signed for my 07 coupe yesterday and i'm having the teflon paint protection + underbody coat put on my car once it arrives at the dealership. i'm in the dc area so i definitely do not want acid rain residue on my car.

I'm not sure about how to get them out but once you do try using a blower to dry your car instead of a cloth or whatever you may use. I've been doing this for about 8 months now( 10 cars ) and no spots whatso ever.

+1 I'd take it by a detail shop and they should be able to knock it out, and for cheap.

You will have to sand acid rain damage. Trust me I have the same problem.
