Removing "bug" juice

I have a NHBP sedan and I live in Southern MN. We have a lot of water and back roads here. Water+Night= BUGS!! And a TON of them. Basically, I can fully detail the car on the weekend, and buy Tuesday morning, the whole front end is plasterd in bug guts, brains, and other randon bug fluids that im not completly sure of. Does anyone else have this problem, and what products do you use to remove them? The 'heat' we have been having recently makes concrete out of these slimy substances after sitting in the parking lot all day at work...

Bug+Tar removers from local autoshops or hardware stores. Make sure it's safe for clearcoats.

really? you have problems?

I spray turtle wax bug and tar remover on my front bumper, wash the car, come back to the front, and everything just wipes right off. that stuff took tar off the car that was on it for a few years. very nice stuff..

I used the green bottled Turtle Bug & Tar on some dried bugs on my NHBP the other day. Just sprayed/dripped some on and wiped with a clean rag. They call came off. I washed the car yesterday and I have no discoloration or evidence that the bugs or spray was on.

Then again, we may have different bugs in Maryland...

Agree with a comment above. The key is to soak the bug infested area first, with either water, or in your case where its really bad, bug remover. Then come back and wash/scrub that area last.

For me I don't have a major bug problem, but when I do wash my car, the First thing I do is spray the front of the car and mirror faces with the hose. After washing the rest of the car, spray the front again, and then wash that area.

The key is to get the cursty bugs softened up via soaking prior to washing. The more soak time the easier to remove.

As a fellow Minnesotan I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm looking for a solution to this myself. I would prefer not to use harsh chemicals on my clearcoat though. I wash my car and scrub the bumper and when I dry it off there are always remnants of brains & guts. Hella annoying!

So your car ends up looking like this? LOL This was some bug damage I took on my road trip back from Montana, through North Dakota and Minnesota. Meguiars Quik Detailer did a decent job getting rid of any bugs that the car wash didn't but I think any bug removal requires some serious elbow grease. I've used the Quik Detailer on other days to get rid of minor bug disasters and it worked pretty good, but not great.

^^ you guys should use painter's blue tape on cross country trips.

just do a quick wax (ICE/NXT/Hydro) and tape up the front and side mirrors.
