How to remove mirror swirls

I have been searching but haven't found a concrete answer to my question.
My driver side mirror has large swirl marks on it from someone trying to clean it the wrong way. I was wondering if there was any way to remove these swirls or if im SOL
Anyone have any ideas?

Take a look at DP Glass Restorer, used it on a old car once and it worked pretty well.

First off how bad is it? Deep swirls more then likely will need mechanical correction (polisher/da).

You could try getting a lightly abrasive product like Meguiar's scratch x 2.0 to remove most of it. It it with a polish after you get done buffing out the swirls.

In reality it depends on how bad they are.

They aren't that bad, i can only see them when the sun reflects on the mirror, tried meguiar's today and no luck. Guess i will just have to deal with it!

If you look for my thread somewhere you can see I had horrible holograms/swirls/youname it and for the most part I was able to get rid of them by hand.

It all depends on how bad the defects are and what kind of abrasive material you need to fix the job, then if needed to fix the microswirls created by the abrasive product.

I actually have read your thread, the only thing is that this is the mirror which is plastic or glass so I was thinking it probably required a different approach

!! I do apologize, I was thinking by mirror swirls you had paint defects. SMH @ me. If you have it on your glass your most likely out of luck. Try the glass restorer.

If it is the glass...? you can order a replacement mirror glass and have your local glass shop change it out for you.

It is an easy (yet scary) procedure. They pop out, and pop back in.

Yeah I don't know if the side mirrors are glass or not. But its not worth paying to have it replaced. I think I will just have to deal with it, thanks for the help though

$17 msrp for the mirror.

If you are brave I will print the replacement procedure for you.

Call the glass shop and ask for an estimate, they will mark up the price of the glass and it may be from a 3rd party & not OEM.
