Amazon is your FRIEND! and other detail info!(full Meguiar's Detail for much cheaper)
I thought I'd share some Amazon bundles I have been purchasing, that saves you quite a lot, than buying individual bottles. Amazon individual prices are actually cheaper than Walmart individual prices, and the bundles are even cheaper altogether. Amazon has no tax, and shipping is free on orders 25$ or more... Through my experience with amazon, (i live in socal), from the moment I press (place order! (before 3 pm)) the package comes to me in 6 calendar days. So if i order on friday, it comes thursday. Tracking says it ships from Kentucky, so, should be 6 days for the east coast, and west coast, much faster in central. This is NOT business days! Oh, also since amazon ships via usps *at least for me, they deliver saturdays!
![]() Ordered many packages, and none had leaks or anything, well packaged so don't worry... anyways: First one I get is the Meguiars smooth surface clay kit. 16.88$ Amazon and walmart prices are almost identical... but I get it on amazon anyways: ![]() Second is Meguiars NXT kitL 26.88$: saves u a lot, even if u just buy this alone, u can get free shipping. Comes with Nxt gen car wash, nxt gen tech wax 2.0, nxt gen insane shine tire spray, ultimate quik detailer, microfiber towel, and foam applicator pad individual prices at walmart (supposedly the cheapest place to get these in stores): 5 bux for wash, 12 bux for wax, 5 bux for tire spray, 9 bux for UQD, *doesn't sell meguiars microfiber towel in 1 pack, or foam applicator* i disregarded the cents, i think like wax is 12.50 or somethin nd stuff... your looking at 35 bux with tax + u dont get microfiber towel and foam applicator. Add bout 5 bux more if you buy elsewhere (autozone, kragen, etc) You CAN get the cheaper alternative of just the class meguiars kit, 21.88$ comes with the car wash, wheel spray, cleaner wax, interior detailer spray, quik detailer, microfiber towel, sponge, and foam applicator pad. still good, but I prefer NXT ![]() individual prices at walmart: wash: 4 bux, spray: 5 bux, cleaner wax, 5 bux, interior detailer spray: 4 bux, quik detailer 5 bux, *doesn't sell microfiber towel, sponge, foam applicator pad) ur looking at around 26 bux with tax, without the towel, sponge, and applicator pad, add around 4-5 bux more for elsewhere stores) For head light restoration, Meguiars DOES sell the restoration kit, but it is kinda pricy at 20 bux (on amazon), 25$ elsewhere. I got the 9 dollar turtle wax headlight lens restorer kit and it works wonders, try that. Not sold on Amazon with the free ship method. Autozone has em for 9 bux. this is how it looks like:Turtle Wax - Headlight Lens Restorer Kit ![]() microfiber TOWELS!! Amazon is reallly great for this. 36 zwipes microfiber towels for only 18 bux. or u can get 12 pack for 9 bux. Been using these on my nhbp civic, good quality. + you get the free microfiber towels from the meguiars kits. Typical detail, I use about 17-20 towels (for interior, exterior, clay, polish, seal, the whole package) You can get drying towels also, but if you waxed your car well, the water should bead, and patting and gliding the zwipes towels across will dry your car (you'll have plenty from the 36 pack) ![]() Scratches, discolorations, hazing, swirls, water spots, other spots, etc? you'll want a compound. Meguiar's ultimate compound works great. Oh yea, people say it might be harsh, and u wanna try swirlx first, etc. I drive a 07 nhbp si. Used ultimate compound (rubbed hard too, and 3 applications on the same spot). NO paint damage whatsoever, so I'm sure it will be ok for other colors. I get the bundle kit on amazon, saves u money. Comes with Ultimate quik detailer, ultimate quik wax, ultimate compound, + 3 MICROfiber towels!! Oh yea...those of you afraid of honda's bad paint, etc, damaging with the UC. Don't worry, I did the whole thing on the hood. Of course, do it in small sections (12" by 12") and work it in well. Don't spread the whole hood and wipe off. Work in well, and wipe off immediately with the microfiber towels the kit provides ![]() Individual prices at walmart: uqd: 9 bux, uqw: 9 bux, uc: 9 bux, 3 pack meguiars microfiber: 7 bux: ur lookin at around 40 bux with tax. add like 4-5 bux more elsewhere stores. Just a quick ultimate compound review, it removed key scratch (about 2 feet long, removed all swirls (at least to the naked eye), removed the tan line when removing civic emblem, removed tiny chips (like the tiny tiny white chips on hood, not dug in, like just very light chip) I think I mentioned everything, cept glass cleaner, mirror cleaner, fabric cleaner, degreasers for engine, that stuff, you can pick up at walmart, or autozone, anywhere, under 5 bux. Febreeze auto works great for removing smells on carpet! (2$ something at walmart!) ![]() Oh yea, polish, paint sealant. For polish, you can pick up meguiars crystal polish at walmart, autozone, for cheap. Amazon has em too, but for now, they aren't doing the free ship. Paint sealant, u don't need it if you have the tech wax. I called Meguiar's directly and asked them: "After i use ultimate compound, what can i buy to seal the paint?" and he said u can use the meguiars glaze OR the nxt tech wax. He recommended tech wax, cuz its sealant + wax in one! ![]() I'm sure there are other detail goods u can get, but I think going more than what i listed is like professional, hardcore, 15 hour detailing imo. I'm not lazy in applying stuff on my car, and from my experience, to... Wash Wheel spray Tire spray Dry Clay Ultimate compound (on areas I need it) Head light restore Tech wax Ultimate quik wax (you dont have to do this step, i just do it) Glass clean (interior and exterior, with eagle one 20/20 vision glass cleaner) Vacuum (All carpets and seats) Interior detailer spray (dash, steering wheel, seat adjusters, seat belt area, e-brake, shift knob, boot, console, door area, navi, etc) Fabreeze auto on carpet and seats Engine degrease Takes 7-9 hours with one 15 minute break. However, most of the time, I just Wash Tire spray Wheel Spray Dry Ultimate compound (areas I need it) Tech wax Interior detailer Glass clean Vacuum Fabreeze spray This takes 4 hours I am not advertising amazon or any product, Just wanted to share some helpful info to some people, for people maybe wanted to save money, etc. ![]() *edit. you can clean exhaust tip using the quik detailer and quik detailer is safe on headlights!FOAM PADS!! where to get them!! lot of people are having trouble finding foam pads. Well... you do get one with the kits i mentioned... but if you want more... you CAN buy from the meguiars website or amazon... but with shipping, your looking at around 3 bux a pad. And they come in 2, so 6-9 bux. Not worth it. Now... if you try looking at target, walmart, autozone, pepboys... you won't find em! i called lot of autozones and pepboys, and stuff after failing to find one in the stores nearby my home, but apparently, they won't sell em. but Kragen does!! go there and get it, it's like a dollar for a pad! quality feels similar to Meguiars imo. works well! *edit 7/13/2009 DUST! I know all you guys hate dust on your cars (esp nhbp). People mentioned the california duster or simply using quik detailer. Reason I dont use the quik detailer is... I at least 25% of the bottle for a whole car quick detail... and that lasts like what... 1 day? dust always sticks. I tried the california duster from amazon for 12.88$. I recall walmart was 19.99$+ tax, so there you have it. not even a hairline scratch was created from the duster. the duster isn't huge and it isn't small. I find that the huge ones don't catch all the dust as we tend to get lazy, thinking bigger = more dust collection. Since civics are fairly small, this one works well. (takes less than 5 minutes to dust btw...) The thing is 12.88, so pick up another item or items adding up to 12 bux and u'll have free ship! Meguiars complete car care kit... This kit... DOES save money... but only get it if you have ABSOLUTELY no detailing supplies whatsoever. it is a 44.88$ meguiars kit that pretty much includes everything: Gold Class Wash (7$ at walmart), Gold class liquid wax (8$), Gold class gel (acts as a polish, I didn't see this at walmart), quik detailer+2clay bars+ towel (17$ same as clay kit), quik interior detailer (4$), plastx (9$), scratchx(9$), wash mitt (4$), foam aplicator (walmart doesn't sell) in All... your looking at around 64 - 68$ with tax, and you get it for 44.88$ with no wax and free ship... Like I said... I'm more of a fan of nxt tech wax kit, but Gold class is very good also... SO iono, If you DO buy the clay kit for 17 and the nxt tech wax kit, it comes to around the same price... However, you DO get some extras with this package, so it's up to you. The only thing this doesn't come with is the tire and wheel spray. About towels! I double checked and searched through all the microfiber towel's amazon sells, and the zwipes twoels i posted above is by far the CHEAPEST price. it is 50 cents per towel if you get the 36 pack.

Thanks for compiling the stuff!
I initially started on Amazon for a while, but have since moved to ADS (autodetailingsolutions) and my local PBE (auto paint store) shop for my Meguiars supplies. Amazon still has a few bargains, though |

The NXT 2.0 Kit on amazon is a great bargain!
Autogeek is pretty cool to order from, they are slightly more expensive but sometimes you get free stuff and the customer support and the product reviews and descriptions can be worth it. But if you already know what you want, amazon is the best! |
