^ hey yea the exhaust tip can be unbolted. I use turtle brand polish and it works great. Just take off the tip get a cloth and then load it up with polish---let it sit for a few minutes and then just scrub/wipe off the excess. Make sure to polish the bolt because it will make it easier to remove it next time.

My stacks on my tractor trailer had rust stains on them where condensation from the exhaust ran down the outside. I polished them yesterday with Autosol polish. Simply rub the product on the let it sit for a minute and then buff it off. Most rust should come off first try but if it doesn't just try another application. Eventually it will all come off and stay off if you give it an a cleaning every other week with it.
Autosol® Polish in a Tube Item # ASOL1 - Winter Brook Farm Antiques One tube will do your exhaust tip for a couple of years. |

After reading some the replies to this thread, I did a little test with my exhaust tip. I first polished the tip - I used a buffing wheel. For the areas unable to be done with the wheel, I used the ole Dremel tool. I then went on to put 3 layers of Klasse Sealant. I was thinking it being acrylic, it would tolerate the amount of heat that the tip would be exposed to at the end of the exhaust pipe. Well, after one week of driving, I took a garden hose and sprayed the soot right off. All it took was a cloth to wipe it down to bring it back to a shine.
