True, just spray some degreaser on it before you spray the engine

Never Again!
Some people like SimpleGreen. Spray on gently and use a soft scrubby. You can put clean water in a bottle and spray on to rinse.

I have this polish its from germany i forget the name i will have to check when i get home but you rub a little on a microfiber cloth and stroke it back and fourth lol and before you know it the metal tubing and what not under the hood shines like a mirror. As far as the rough metals i use a stiff brush and agitate with some all purp cleaner. Or beleive it or not my secret detailing weapon is brake parts cleaner. Just be really careful with this as it can discolor some items and is flameable. But it works like a gem on rough metals and such.
