Paint Cost??

hey fella's... I've been thinking, and, I think I want to get my 07 fiji blue pearl FA5 repainted. Its spider webbed to hell, some minor scratches, a tar spot in the middle of the drivers door, and I've tried everything to make it look new again, and I just want to start fresh again. I've been lookin around a lot, and cant come up with anything. I was wanting to know if anyone knows roughly the cost to get my FA5 repainted with the fiji blue pearl. I figured the paint would be more expensive since it has the metallic/pearl in it. i've never had an entire car painted before, so i dont even know how much labor is either. well, any help would be great, thanks guys....

the swirls, cobwebs, and light scratches can be fixed. Send it to a good detailer like rasky.

Id rather pay $200~ than 4-5K for a good paint job

Id start off by sending it by a pro detailer see what they could do for 300+ then decide if it is still really bad. What state are you in?

For the amount of money you'd save it's worth a drive. You don't need a repaint for that stuff.

LOL @ this thread. Threadstarter, no offense but WTF are you thinkin? You've had your car for, AT MOST, 2 years and you already want a re-paint? So are you going to pay 4-5K every couple years to have it re-painted?

Why not get the things that are wrong fixed, then start looking at what caused the swirls/spiderwebs in the first place. Get it detailed and change your washing methods.

you'd be suprised what a porter cable buffer and some zaino could do, invest the 300 you need into the kit and learn to detail it yourself. The orbital buffer is dumb proof so you cant hurt your paint doing it yourself. Check out autogeek for the full kits. I have one and its worth the money, its just hard to find the time.

i have a buffer, but i suck at detailing and i'm a perfectionist, so nothin is ever good enough for me and just washing it all the time and then dirt getting cought in the sponges/rock chips/everyday wear has made my paint dull. i've asked questions about detailing and how to make it look better and i personnaly have had no luck, i'm just not a detailer, i'm a mechanic. they dont mix. i've tried this entire summer season and i just couldnt get it right. so i just gave up and i guess i'll take it to a pro detailer somewhere around here.but thanks for the info...

excellent attitude to have. I now understand. Mechanics CAN'T possibly be detailers....
