Will scratch-x work on a key mark?
There is a 5 inch long key scratch on my back left door starting under the handle its not that deep and looks like it just might be the clearcoat.
I can feel it with my fingernail and its like a tiny indention. Will scratch-x take this out, and will it lighten the paint in the area or should it make it look good as new? |

I highly doubt it. As a detailing freak, almost anything you can feel with your finger nail you can't take out, and should either leave it to a professional with high quality, fast spinning polishers. They will do their best to either take it all out, or as much as they safely can. Scratch X works great, but it has its limitations. They don't sell high end professional products at wal-mart for a reason, and Scratch X is not Meguiars pro line, its a safe consumer product.
So, depending on how bad the scratch really is, you may be able to do it. Watch the video on youtube on how to properly use it, then go at it. Hope this helps and good luck! |
