Farewell to my Rallye Red FG1
CarMax: Vehicle Fact Sheet
On Tuesday May 06 2008, I sold my 2007 Rallye Red EX R18 to carmax for $15500. It was hard parting with it but I have no regrets. It did not meet my expectations. It was not quick enough for me. The automatic was so boring. The lucky person who buys my car should be happy with it. It was well maintained and daily detailed. As for my new car that I've gotten already... lets just say, I've joined the dark side.

When I first test drove the car, I loved it. I thought it was quick enough for me at that time. I wanted a car with good fuel economy and a bit of power. Unfortunately, I only got around the low 20's MPG even though I wasn't pushing it at all. Also, during highways, if i wanted to switch lanes and pull ahead, I would stomp on the gas and nothing would even happen like there was no response.

I expected the car to obtain my desired fuel economy (around 28-30) and that did not happen. The car could not pull at times. I would put my pedal to the floor and there would be no response like I wasn't even stepping on it. |

Okay, you tell me how was I suppose to know I was going to get around the low 20's MPG? When I test drove it, it pulled nicely. I didn't find out until I did a bit more highway driving for longer stretches. You're telling me that I should take the car and go on a long trip as a test drive?

Yes and no. I took no less then 8 test drives over the past 2 years before I purchased my Civic last month. That included a 70mph stretch of highway around 10 miles long so I could see exactly how it handled and performed at highway speeds. If your dealership woudn't have allowed this, I woulda walked right out. The gas mileage is open for debate, if you kept slamming the gas pedal expecting a Si boost in power, no wonder your gas mileage was terrible. |
