My First SI Drive.
Hello all,
Current Accord/Future Civic nut here, I have had 90, 96, and 03 Accord EX sedans. They have all been great, of course, but the 8th gen Accord generation is just TOO BIG! I want to get a new car this spring and its between a 6speed TSX and the SI sedan (used or certified.) I test drove my first SI yesterday. It was a Certified NHBP 2dr at Fox Honda in Grand Rapids, MI. My question is since I would be looking for a sedan what are the major differences between the coupe and the sedan...aside from the extra doors? (I.E. Handling, interior etc.) So far the SI is in the lead to be my new car. |

tons of threads here with info on each car... but here u go...
other than that not many differences... since they are so similar it really comes down to personal preference of coupe vs sedan... |

They're both the same when it comes to performance. The only difference is like you said the doors, spoiler, grille (check honda site for specific differences). The Sedan has more room and is a little heavier but not much to make a difference. The handling I believe is pretty much the same. One is not better than the other, just different

YouTube - Review: 2007 Honda Civic Si Sedan
heres a review. Sedan doesnt handle better than the coupe...it handles equally well...according to Honda...NOT ME. the coupe sits lower than the sedan....and hence it makes up for the 1% better dist the sedan has. im out...b4 a war starts...... Last edited by nayilsi; 03-10-2008 at 02:11 AM. |

TSX is more about luxury...than brute force.....
Si is quicker and has better handling....hence a VERY stiff ride....and the tranny and interior quality can get tough for sum.. It is up to you to decide. Last edited by nayilsi; 03-10-2008 at 02:24 AM. |

LOL.
That's a tough call seeing that your buying used either way... It's all up to you I suppose. You should do as I've suggested to others in the past.... Make a list of what you WANT in a car and compare what the TSX has to what the Si has in conjunction with your list... whichever fits the bill the best, wins. |

Sedan fits my needs...I just wondered since I was only able to test drive a coupe.
As for a stiff ride...I have HFP suspention on my accord sedan and its still to soft and sloppy. I think the tsx would still be a little on the soft side. I dont care about leather or power seats. I can get a homelink rearview mirror for the civic. I thought the tranny issues were all the honda 6 speeds so a 6 speed tsx would be the same right..? I like the interior layout....there are places where it seems cheaper that the accord/tsx but its not that bad. so far leaning to the SI sedan. It will depend on what i can sell mine for and whats available. I would really like to find one with navi (tsx or SI) |
