Insurance rate went up on SI

hey all...my geico 6 month term was up for renewal and low and behold i saw my new bill and it went up around $50+. i called geico and they said the symbol for the SI went up cuz from more research and findings they're finding its more costly to repair/fix an SI.

did anyone else get this? or did geico just f me over? i'm looking into finding another insurance agency.

Geico is high as anything in New Jersey. The insurance company I use is Mercury Insurance. It's great for my age. Look it up.

My newest statement actually went down about $20 through Geico. *Knock on wood* When I called and got my insurance back in Aug. I got the best rate through them and the guy I talked to said my insurance would go down once January hit and again once my B-Day hit.

Sometimes it is cheaper to start a new policy with the same company. I did this for years with Progressive. Each time I got a renewal notice. I simply went online and did a new customer quote - it was always cheaper so I just took out a new policy number.

try that.

interesting, my statefarm went up about 50$ for my 6months too, on an EX.

SF said the civic was proven to be "more prone" to flipping than 3 months ago.

i have yet to find out since my renewal is in February, and my agent told me that my rates would not go up. I hope Progressive doesn't jack up rates just b/c my civic is badged as an Si. Paying $290/month is starting to catch up with my wallet.

It seems like every year my insurance gets cheaper with geico. Hopefully being 21 can get me to 150$ just hoping my good student discount actually saves me 209.00/6 months
