If that includes a sales tax of $1,400 or more, then it's a good deal.

Base price + title and license and fees (but not tax) try to get it to 21000 or below.
Yes, that price of $22,466 includes everything (tax, title, dealer fees, and anythign else you can think of)

^ yes, but if tax in your state is only 4%, then you might be able to knock the OTD price down to 22,000. depends on demand where you're located.

If you're in a tax free state, then it's not good.

I got the following "Internet price quotes" from Hardin Honda in Anaheim, California around the end of June.

Quote:
2008 Honda Civic LX Coupe (5-speed auto) $17,000 + tax and license
2008 Honda Civic EX Coupe (5-speed auto) $18,500 + tax and license
2008 Honda Civic EX Sedan (5-speed auto) $18,600 + tax and license
* destination fees are included
Those prices were good through July 3rd but Hardin would not extend them to July 4th. I had to drive 60+ miles down there right after work on the night of July 3rd to get those prices.

When I arrived at the dealership 40 minutes before they close and showed them my "Internet price quotes", I sensed a slight unpleasant mood from the first floor sales person I spoke to. Their Internet sales staff went home already at that time. Nevertheless, they did honor those prices and were very professional.

I ended up purchasing a EX Coupe because they did not have any Sedan left.

I suppose I got a good deal at that time because most dealers in my area (except Santa Monica Honda) were selling EX Coupe and Sedan at 20,400 MSRP and would not lower their prices citing high demand. Good deal aside, the car itself has not lived up to its reputation as far as gas mileage is concerned. I have posted a message in another thread about my low 21 MPG after 400 miles. I guess I should wait until after the break-in period and see if gas mileage improves or not.

$17000even plus tax/DMV fees/doc fee = $18500ish OTD for 2008 Civic LX Coupe AT Atomic Blue+ $700 for Lojack + some stupid ass fees. I made friends with the sales guys. They picked me up from my work, to the bank, and back to the dealership. I also got a free scratch repair cuz I'm a nice guy according to the sales guy. He showed me his commission report, and he made like $30 on the sales. I don't know it's true or not. BTW, I used my credit card balance transfer check to pay off the Honda loan. I already got my title , but owe the credit card company with 1.99APR for a year.
