Hi, here is the deal i got, i dont know if its as awesome as some of yalls deals. I bought mine at goodson honda in houston texas. I got a white 08 SI for 21300 but thats including the trunk tray, door seal protectors, mud guards, wheel locks, and get this a lifetime power train warranty! I also got the 5 yr 60k warranty for 865 bux. I traded in a 08 Scion XD manual trans with 13,500 miles they gave me 11,500 plus the 1000 i get back on my gap and warranty on the scion so i really got 12.5k. I think i got fair on the honda but kinda screwed on the scion trade in. lol PS Scions are not that great in material quality becasue my seat in the scion started to wear real bad.

'08 Si w/ Navi in Tafetta White.
Frank Leta Honda in O'Fallon, MO.

I traded in my '03 WRX w/ 53K for $11,000 but still owed $5500. They sold me the Si for $500 off MSRP. $22,995 - $5500 = $17,495. After I put down another $5000 I only had to finance $12,495. With the 2.9% APR for 60 months, I'm only paying $231 a month. I think that is a pretty good deal. Does anybody think I got screwed? I need some positive reinforcement. :-)

Also paid $980 for TTL but that was cash.

itl be tough....but maybe the dealership wants to get rid of the car and might seal the deal.

Hey I got one response back from a dealer that had what I wanted (I think)

How's this? What could I talk them down to? The only option I plan to add is the autodim mirror with compass.

I would think you should be able to get that car at least $1,000 cheaper - not sure what the deals are on EX w/Navi, but I got my EX $2,300 less than sticker...

If MSRP is $21-something, then go for $18,500 and see what they say. The worst they'll say is no. They might counteroffer with something else. Each dealership has a differing amount of leeway in what they'll sell a car for - one dealer may set the lower limit on a certain $20,000 car is $19,000, while another may tell their salespeople that the lower limit on the same car is $18,500. You just need to play a little of the game. Usually, if you show that you're serious about buying their car, you can get them to come down to a reasonable price.

Good luck!

I negotiated $19.6 @ 2.9% for an 08 EX-L w/o nav including all-season floor mats (I really wanted them) and then later discovered that they had hit me with about $650 worth of "VEK". They say that this charge is for dealer accessories like trunk tray, splash guards, wheel locks, pinstripe, etc. that they install on every car. Really, it's a "slush" charge that they use to recapture some of the margin that might have been negotiated away. I went back and complained because they had told me that those accessories were "included" and negotiated a remote starter for free - and they didn't get their accessories back either.

Lessons learned: Scruitinize their worksheet and the loan paperwork BEFORE you sign and make sure you know what every charge is for. Make sure you negotiate the base price and not monthly payments or else they'll saddle you with as much "VEK" as they feel they can get away with. And if you think you got screwed, go back and act like you're REALLY mad about it. It's amazing what they'll do for an irate customer to get them off the sales floor.

Here's their response on me asking if they'd take $18.5.
"No but thank you for your offer. FYI your offer is $2000 below invoice on the hottest selling car in America."

So respond to them with something along the lines of, "OK, so $18,500 was a low-ball offer - but I'm serious about buying the car - what will you accept?" and see where it goes. Maybe try $19,500. Or try another dealership.

Ok thanks! I'll see what I can do. There was only 1 other dealership in my area that said they had one with the navi though. (with leather though, which is nice, but not necessary)

I think them declining your offer is a good thing...well that's what I would want anyways...if they would have accepted it, I would be wondering if they would have taken less. I think that's a good way to get the best possible deal. If your only looking to buy from one dealership that won't work as well, some won't budge off msrp.

As far as your offer being $2000 below invoice, that's not really not your problem. Plus wouldn't believe much of what a lot of dealers say. I'm far from an expert though.
