. . . it seems so ridiculous to not by a car because of a moonroof and an aux jack. . . if you like everything else about the car that much why puss out of something so minor

The Opel Astra OPC Nurburgring might change your mind, but maybe not and that's probably the first time I've heard the Cobalt looks good.

I am not really into hatches. Sure I had a Mazda 3 hatch but I only had it for 8 months.

The cobalt looks better then this car imo. I have always loved the Cobalt. The only thing I think is poo is the interior and the way asians look at you if you have one.

Understood. I feel the same way with the interior of the Cobalt SS. That's the first thing I noticed at the auto show when I stepped inside the car. I couldn't get over it so I strayed away. Too bad really cause the car has so much to offer.

I would have to agree. I think the exterior is good - especially with the new wheels.

Not true. The record-breaking run is still unofficial, but it's said that the Cobalt SS/TC has lapped the ring faster than any FWD car ever has.. I would say that it handles pretty well.

i'll leave.

Okay, just read through more of the thread. Please ignore my post, I wasn't aware that enthusiasts aren't welcome here.

I apologize.

LOL. I've been seeing a lot of the same responses, and I don't post all that much:

1. It's still a <brand x>.
2. My Si with 10K in performance mods would walk all over it.
3. Interior and styling does not match Honda. Therefore you have crappy taste in cars.

I think I've stirred the pot enough. Let's get back on topic.

What do you mean it felt bad? As in the handleing of the car itself or the buttons and wheel and clutch? And you had to feel power with all that tq at 2000rpm

I test-drove the cobalt, but I would rather have a s/c'd si anyday. Slower down the line as far as full potential, but I'm fine with that. I love the way the si looks, pulls, and handles the way it is right now.

I rather have a s/c or turbo civic also but there is no warranty then and thats not good. Whenever the Civic is redesigned, I am sure they will make us feel all giddy as they will have something up their sleeve I am sure. No way are they going to let Chevy or Dodge stay up there with that much power.

That's odd, the cobalt ss/sc and ss/tc motors have proven themselves to be very reliable. The only hiccup is the transmission in the ss/sc, which has just as many problems as the k20z3 transmission.

Look past the label and learn a lot.

tell that to my 2 friends with the sc cobalt that need a new transmission after 30k and 55k, battery and engine mount on one. or my coworker that drives a 07 silverado, she needs a trany already. or my girlfriends dad who drives a 05 chvevy trailblazer ltz and his tranny is also slippin. last i checked there area problems with the third gear syncros and NOT the whole transmission on the si. i drive a si and have no problems with any gear, and also my s2k has no problems at all.

Somehow I think you're full of it because I know several people with Chevys, Pontiacs, Cadillacs etc and none of them seem to have many problems. Sure something might pop up now and again but you make it sound like no car goes past 50k without a major rebuild.
