Worst Car Salesman Experience

This was actually well before I was looking into the Si's but it was the Honda dealer. About December of last year I went to look at the new 2008 Civic line and I was in a Hoodie/Jeans on a Friday coming home from work (at the time I was driving my old mercedes) I was 20 at the time. 21 now. But I look younger when I am not in business clothes I can pull off 17/18 pretty easily. In business clothes i look older 23/24 lol its funny how easily clothes effect your surroundings.

So I walk in to the Freedhold Honda Dealership and begin looking around at the EX model right infront of the door and then the Lady at the front desk asks me if I need something. I said "No. Just trying to gathersome information on the new Civics."

Next thing I know this Sales guy in a suit walks up not only interrupts me but cuts infront of me to grab a business card and start a convorsation with the desk woman. No excuse me, Sorry, nothing. Then he turns and looks at me and says "Is there something you need?" and I am like "Need? No I am just trying to gather some information on the 2008 Civics." I SWEAR TO YOU his next comment was "You serious?"

I looked at him and was like "Yeah I really wouldn't be here if I wasn't." followed by another smarta** comment and a smirk "What are you driving now?"

Never felt so good to turn and point outside the door and say "The Mercedes." Clicked my door lock so the lights flickered right outside the door.

Get this the guy trys to hand me his card. I was like "No thanks." turned and left.

I now looking at Si's at a dealership 25min in the opposite direction I will never go back there again. Hopefully I get some better service this time out.

Some salesguy at my local dealership told me a '06 LX was worth $24,000... I was speechless, needless to say I got my car elsewhere.

You should go back to that dealership, buy the car off of a different salesman. And make sure to rub it in.

Wow, that must have felt good....

When I was looking into what it'd be to finance an 08 TC, upon telling him i could put half the money down, he proceeded to tell me that I should make sure I put less than $10K down or else they'd have to tell the IRS about that money... As if to imply the money I made was less than legitimate... Glad I went Si...

Should of brought in $10,001. Tell him to let the IRS know you said hello.

No, any transaction over $9,999.99 must be reported to the IRS. Regardless of who its coming from.

And here is some reading if you call BS Cbeyer. He was just informing you.

ya salesman can be dicks sometimes but its there job to SELL cars and the only way they make money to survive is to SELL cars. So they judge people on clothing sadly, thats why I brought my father in to co-sign for my 2008 SI when I bought it.

Cause I know at 24 (i look young) they won take me serious, until they realize im buying an SI.

Edit: Crucifer: oh, sick son... Red is a fine color

Yeah. I was wrong. I got the cash transaction reporting mixed up with customs reporting.

He probably didn't want to to pay 1/2 the car upfront because that means it's harder for him to screw you on the payments. Or he was just a moron.

OP: Good choice on RR, those look nice.
