Never treat people according to how they look, its foolish and you will get f*cked n the end.

Personal Example: My brother and i decided to stop into our rallye (benz, bmw, royce, jags) dealer and just kinda look at the cars. I was 20 and he 18, and i was seriuosly considering getting a m3 in maybe a year. We were dressed in shorts and polo/tshirt and i had gotten out of my new civic. We went into the bmw dealership side and got in and out of cars talked about them, read the cards and NO ONE even approached us, i left with a very bad taste in my mouth and would never go back into that place again.

We then walked into the benz part of the dealership (this place is pretty big, two buildings plus service warehouse) after maybe a couple of minutes we were looking around a mature sales guy approached us and talked to us about the then new s-class style and such. told him i might look for a c-class or dad might need a new sedan. he gave us his card and could not have been nicer about the whole thing. I walked away with a good taste, told our father about it and 6 months down the road he called that specific salesman and bought his s550.

Salesmen who are douches are just f*cking themselves out of money. You never know if a kid who walked into a lambo dealership with jeans/t-shirt/and converse sneakers on is the next bam margera or ryan sheckler with 500k in a suitcase

I hate salesman who judge people on their race/looks.

When I was at Honda of Pasadena this one salesman kept calling us cheap because we were asian which really pissed off my mom.

Some goof at a mitsubishi stealership walked out looking like he was an extra in the movie the night at the roxbury. Chatted on his cell phone half the time. Didnt know jack about the specs of the car. And to top it off..Told me they were selling the car for $6000 OVER the msrp, because it was a 'rare' car.

I went like this.. Got back in my si and went like this..

The day after I bought my car, the finance guy at the dealership called me and said "they" wanted to increase my interest rate on my loan from 1.9% to 2.9%. Anybody ever had this happen to them? I forget what kind of BS he tried to feed me on the phone, but I told him that I'd bought the car and signed at 1.9% and that was the deal. After a week or so of going back and forth "they" let me keep the 1.9%. I'm still not sure if he was trying to screw me or if he made a mistake by giving me the 1.9% instead of 2.9% or what.

Sometimes I heard and has happened to me .... they will take that oil marker they mark the windshields of cars you know.... this one is on sale.. but they got mad that I did not buy the car and marked the side of my car with it! I did not notice it at all Freaking nissan which the honda dealership was nice enough to help me take it off.

I had turned 19 the summer I graduated from high school and was working my butt off to buy my first car/Honda. I spent the entire summer looking for Honda Accords that wern't trashed, had high mileage from going to the moon and back and wern't smoke in *tough in my town*

One of my cheaper lots in town had a pretty nice 93 Green EX sedan on a rack and I was admiring and looking at the paint with my hand on the car for a few minutes when a fat salesman barged outa the building and stated

"So, you gonna buy a car or are you just gonna stand there and scratch the paint?"

I was so dumbstruck and shocked and simply walked away in disgust trying to comprehend what had just happened. Had my father been their, shit would have hit the turbine. I've never been to that dealership since and have told everyone I know to stay away from them

You would think the way the economy is going and how horrible the car market is going nowadays salesmen would jump over anyone that takes a step on the lot, regardless of how they look.

Before I got my civic I did a lot of lot walking and never once got approached in a serious matter (I was 18 at the time). I then one weekend got my dad to come with me and walked onto the Scion dealership. I told him to wait a bit then walk onto the lot and see how the salesmen treat me. He waited then proceeded to walk onto the other side of the lot and look at a random car. A salesmen immediately walked up to him asking if he needed help. He said no i'm just browsing but I think he may need some help and pointed over at me. My dad told me the salesmen's exact words were "That kid? He can't afford anything on this lot." He felt really stupid when my dad said, "Oh ya, well that kid is my son."

Salesmen are the biggest assholes ever. End of story.

you are going to get judged no matter what by the way u look. some people just choose to treat you like shit other will treat you like anybody else. I work retail and wear a suit all day. i get judged all the time people think im in my mid 20s. I judge people when they walk in but i know not to treat anybody differently. i had one guy walk in with raggity ass close and buy clothes with me next thing he does was pull out the black amex card i shit my pants. you also get away with a few more things if you wear a suit cops seem to like it when i wear my suit

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram. Big ass 4x4 redneck truck with a trailer on the back with my mower on it and all the other yard work tools. I pulled into the Honda Dealer in Dothan, AL with sweat stained shirt from having just cut 4 acres of lawn for a buddy of mine and the $200 I got was nice too. Pull into that dealer and couldn't get anyone to come over while I was looking at 2009 Civic SI's. I walk inside and one of the salesmen says, "We aren't taking any trucks in on trade right now."

So I said, "Good. My work truck isn't for sale tater salad. Now why don't you get your ass out in the friggin parking lot and tell me something about this car." He WALKS THE HELL AWAY! Some other dude comes out and starts talking to me. I ask him where the other guy went and this guy actually tells me, "He's a manager, he doesn't sell cars to people." So I walked directly to where I saw that dude walk into and stick my head in his office. I say, "Your rude ass behavior just lost you a sale pal." He says, "Not many guys your age driving in with all that grass cutting shit buy our cars anyway. So I doubt wasting my time with you would have been productive. Plus, I think you're "On" something, and I don't associate with your kind."

Thing is, I have a traumatic brain injury from Iraq. So when I start getting tired as hell, my headaches kick up, my eyes look baggy and I can slur my words and my left side goes numb so bad I kinda shuffle when I walk.

So I look at the dude and say, "See this ID card.....I show my military active ID.....I will be on Fort Rucker in the next 45 minutes to let the folks at Army Community Service know how you just treated a wounded veteran with a head injury." The guy then says, "Yeah, you're all vets aren't you? Looking for a hand out or a deal." I said, "Thanks, my cell phone just recorded our two minute talk. And I my simple country ass can even figure out how to upload a file to Honda. See ya motherfu...."

I go right to ACS and file the complaint. Then I drive right to Enterprise and Sam Boswell Honda. In the same clothes, same truck, the whole nine yards. The salesman there greats me at the door of my truck, asks me what I want to look at. I say, that black Civic SI right there on the showroom floor. He shows me the car inside and out and the boss man, Oneal Boswell, comes up and asks me if I'm happy with the salesman and chats me up for a few. He notices my brain surgery scar and we talk about how that happened. I tell him and the salesman I gotta talk to my wife about the car and the price, that i have a 2004 Trailblazer I need to get rid of. I go home and no sooner had I walked in the door, Mr. Boswell is on the phone asking me to bring the wife up there with the Trailblazer. We go, they buy the Trailblazer for more than it's worth and sale me that Civic SI Coupe right off the damned showroom floor. Gave me a nice break on the price too.

So that was a week or so ago. Today, I went back out to Dothan in my uniform and my new 2009 Civic SI Coupe. I walk into the showroom floor and angle right at the asshole manager. Recognition comes over his face right after he looks at my rank. I walk right up to him and say, loud enough for the two couples in there shopping to hear me, "Thanks for treating a wounded active duty Army guy like shit and making fun of my disability of slurring my words due to brain injury. I wasn't looking for a "hand-out" as you implied, just information on a new Honda Civic SI like the one I just drove up in." And Sam Boswell's son in Enterprise saw me in the same shape you did the other day and still sold me that car without trying to make me feel like a piece of shit for stepping in with my work clothes on. Honda should be very interested in this whole experience I've had you stuffed-shirt prick." I tehn turned to walk out and looked at one of the couples. I noticed the military bearing and the haircut and said, "ACS thinks this dude is an ass, so they are officially recommending Sam Boswell Honda to all military instead of this asshat. The dude said, "Hoo-Ah Sergeant!" and he and his wife left with me. The look on the managers face was friggin PRICELESS! And I left him about 40 feet of Honda rubber to remind him of me.

WOW! I can not believe somebody in THIS day and age would treat anyone like that. I am glad you sorted it out and also got the Si from another dealer! It must have been PRICELESS to see the look on the guys face when you told the other army guy to go the other dealership!

I guess the South isn't as patriotic as they claim to be. It's disgusting how you are a hero for enlisting one day, and a tax liability the next.

Also stupid that he mentioned "handouts" since Honda advertises $500 or so off new car purchase to Army personnel. They actually offer these themselves.

But I look younger when I am not in business clothes I can pull off 17/18 pretty easily. In business clothes i look older 23/24 lol its funny how easily clothes effect your surroundings.

So I walk in to the Freedhold Honda Dealership and begin looking around at the EX model right infront of the door and then the Lady at the front desk asks me if I need something. I said "No. Just trying to gathersome information on the new Civics."

Next thing I know this Sales guy in a suit walks up not only interrupts me but cuts infront of me to grab a business card and start a convorsation with the desk woman. No excuse me, Sorry, nothing. Then he turns and looks at me and says "Is there something you need?" and I am like "Need? No I am just trying to gather some information on the 2008 Civics." I SWEAR TO YOU his next comment was "You serious?"

I looked at him and was like "Yeah I really wouldn't be here if I wasn't." followed by another smarta** comment and a smirk "What are you driving now?"

Never felt so good to turn and point outside the door and say "The Mercedes." Clicked my door lock so the lights flickered right outside the door.

Get this the guy trys to hand me his card. I was like "No thanks." turned and left.

I now looking at Si's at a dealership 25min in the opposite direction I will never go back there again. Hopefully I get some better service this time out.

Should of punched him in the face

Yah that happened to me. I look fairly young too. I went into a dealership and this younger salesman helped me and my sister. We went into his office and no matter how many times we got him to "talk" to his manager, he wouldn't drop the price lower than MSRP.

A week later, I just called every dealership in my area instead of physically going in. I told them I would buy the car that same day if they had what I wanted. I figured if the salesmen could only listen to my voice, they would have a harder time predicting my age. Once I got a certain price I negotiated with other dealerships. Turned out that the lowest price came from the same dealership I first went into.

The orginal salesman was surprised to see me back, only this time actually buying a car and through someone else.
